Your POV

My students suddenly went quiet as soon as I entered the room. All of them were back on their proper seats and sat up straight with the lips tightly shut.

It may sound like I'm an intimidating teacher, but I actually earned their respects after a long way.

"Good morning, class." I greeted kindly as I layed down the textbooks I was carrying on top of my table. "Would anyone want to tell me which property of addition did we finish yesterday?" I looked around the room for anyone to recite. "Anyone?"

All of them were either hiding their faces behind the book or were pretending they were thinking of an answer. It was silly really. Though, at the same time, it was a little humiliating to have kids just stay quiet as if I was talking to nobody.

Until one in the front raised their hand timidly. I smiled as I looked at him, "Ah. Timothy. Which property of addition did we finish yesterday?" I asked kindly. Don't get me wrong, I know the answer. I just want to know if they could remember what we did yesterday.

He timidly stood up, "W--We finished the last one. Associative property, M--Miss." He answered, swinging himself shyly as he avoided my gaze.

"Very good." I replied, "Now, I want you all to take out your slates and writing materials. Let's see if you all got the lesson yesterday as well as the previous ones." I said to them, grabbing myself the chalk and turned to face the board. "Please copy and answer what I will be writing on the board, thank you."

While they obeyed my instructions, I thought of five equations that consisted of the properties of addition and wrote them down on the board. I tried my best to make my writing big enough for my students who sat at the back. Hence, the reason why I was writing a little slow.

As I write them down, I could hear some of the children snickering from behind. "Please concentrate on finishing this work first before you talk to your seatmates." I ordered, still writing on the board.

For a moment, it was quiet again. Not until I heard knocking on the window to my right. "Miss, your mister loverman is here." One of my students in their tween ages giggled, followed by other giggles and teases from the older ones.

When I turned to that particular direction, I saw Whitey, my husband, waving at me with a faint grin on his face. "What do you want?" I mouthed partially out of annoyance.

As I did, he presented a basket of food made for me. "You forgot your lunch, darlin'." He mouthed back. I didn't realize I forgot my lunch today.

Since I wouldn't be able to prevent myself from being ravenous later, I didn't have a choice but to take it from him. I don't know why, but I get quite flustered whenever these kids were around us with their playful and teasing looks.

So I opened the window and took the basket from Whitey. "Thanks, Sweetheart." I said to him as I eyed up the lavender flowers that were wrapped in the corner of the basket handle with a smile.

I expected him to go back to his work by now, but he was still standing there as if he was waiting for some reward. "You may go now. I'll see you in the evening, love you!" I chuckled as I gripped on the window handle, ready to close it.

"Oh, come on. No goodbye kiss?" He complained, leaning over to fold his arms over the framing whilst puckering up his lips.

Awes erupted in the whole classroom. Most of them were the girls. I couldn't help but have the heat rush up to my cheeks, making me even more flustered and slightly embarrassed. Instead for leaning down, I kissed my fingertips and touched his thin, soft lips with it as if I was passing it on.

It looked like it didn't reach his satisfaction when he suddenly frowned. "You know, that's not the kind of kiss I was expecting, Y/N." He retorted playfully.

"I will do that when the kids aren't around anymore, Whitey." I said as I closed the window at him.

"Come on, Y/N. Just one peck on the cheek at least?" He persisted.

I was already walking back towards the board, "Get back to work, Mr. Winn!" I demanded as I grabbed the chalk and finished writing equations after shushing my the giggling I'm hearing.

Eventually, he took off, leaving me smiling after hearing him bid his goodbye in the most flattering way.

"I love you, Mrs. L/N-Winn!"
