Summary:
Nope. You don't get one of those.
Part I of II.
~oooOooo~
Time left scars on my soul, Dreams that I chased have all gone away. Now I sit alone. My past follows me close. So much I have planned that never began I'll never know...
"You're dying," the doctor said as he looked over the report in his hands, his voice devoid of any emotion.
"I'm...what?" Mathan breathed in disbelief as he looked at the man in front of him.
"You're dying," the doctor said. "Your condition has worsened significantly. And at the pace you are going... Son you need to slow down. Even with aggressive treatment...I would say six months. But no longer than a year. I would suggest you get your things in order and...return to go over a treatment plan."
Mathan looked at the desk and nodded.
"Treatment?" he asked softly.
"We will do our best to keep you comfortable for as long as possible but..." the doctor trailed off.
"I see," Mathan said, his brow furrowing as he rationalized that this painful kind of death was no more than he had deserved all along.
"Does your family know?" the doctor asked.
Mathan could only shake his head, thank the doctor and walk numbly from the office. Mathan had no family to say his goodbyes to. At this time in his life, he really had no one he could allow to care.
He was dying, and any hopes he may have had for a future were gone. There would be no happily ever after. No chance for happy memories to be made. No time to find someone who would miss him when he was gone. Mathan Foley was very much living on borrowed time and he had to do everything in his power to make every moment count. He still had so much left that had to be done, and no matter how hard he thought, he knew he was the only one that could see his plans through.

For years I'd been waiting for someone to take me, Tell me it'll all be alright, Now I'm just waiting around to die.
As Mathan drove back to the hell he called home he passed people in every stage of life, and for a moment the pain in his chest was worse.
It would be spring soon and Mathan knew that the time to grab his charges and run was coming to a close. As soon as the weather cleared the monsters that had them would take them somewhere new and according to the news that he had received today, Mathan Foley would not be around to deliver them once more from hell.
Arriving at the compound Mathan checked his messages to make sure things were in order and went to Bangtan's room to check on the six members who remained there still.
Seeing that all was well he pulled Seokjin into the hall, pulling him close, not caring who saw, and held on to him tight, relishing in this first stolen moment of someone else's' time. He was thankful in this new here and now that he would not be around long enough to break this sweet angel's heart.
Walking out of Jin's life without a word wasn't something he had ever thought he would be forced to do. The thought of falling in love with someone as completely as he had with Kim Seokjin...he wondered if this was how karma got its kicks. He was glad he would not survive long enough to see the tears streaming down this young man's face when Jin found out Mathan Foley was gone for good.
