'Wh-' you couldn't even get the words out of your mouth before a hand clasps over your mouth.

'Shut up, or you're gonna have a long ride back to London.' Draco says quietly.

You try to get out of his grasp but he doesn't let you.

'You're only going to make this harder on yourself little dove. I suggest you sit down.' He doesn't even give you the chance to sit down, he just pushes you into the seat.

The shades have closed and the door locked so no one will know you're in here, except for Hermonie, she should know. Shouldn't she?

'Hermonie will find me.' You say. 'I was going with her to get changed so she will realize that I'm gone.' You spit at his feet after the last word.

He lunges forward and puts his hand on your throat.

'Do that again, and you'll regret it... mudblood.'

'What happened to 'little dove?' I actually prefer that more than mudblood. Doves are actually my favorite animals because they-'

'Do you ever shut up?' He asks you annoyingly.

'Usually.' You reply.

He lets go of your throat and puts his hands in his pockets. He turns to look out the window. You look at the back of him then out the window. It's always a beautiful view going to Hogwarts. You wish you could just stop somewhere and explore. You're lost looking out the window and in your thoughts that you didn't even realize Malfoy was talking to you.

'Did you even hear a bloody word I said?' You jump because you've never heard his voice get that kind of tone before. 'This won't be a good year for you mudblood. It's enough having Granger here, but two of you? Hogwarts is going to be ruined. There's too many half-bloods and muggle-borns as it is, but you two?! In my grade?! I will destroy you. I can't destroy Granger because she is always too close to Potter.' He stops for a minute and grabs your chin gently. 'But you, oh yes. I can destroy you easily. You have no one in your house. No one to protect you. No one to help you when you need it. It'll be my greatest advantage.'

You're breath shakes a little. Why does it mean so much to him to do this? You haven't done anything to him. You've avoided him the past two years you've been here. Why is this year so different?

'Um,' you manage to get out as calmly as possible. 'How do you even know this much about me? It's a little weird, Malfoy. I mean, everyone knows everything about you because you let it known and me? Half of the people in my own house barely even know I exist so it's a little strange that a pure-blood Slytherin-'

'Shut up! God, you're so annoying.' And with that he leaves the room.

You sit in silence for a little while trying to comprehend what just happened. Malfoy has barely ever said any other word to you that wasn't 'mudblood.' The only time he would use other words was when you two were partners in a class.

You see Hermonie walk past the compartment and you yell after her.

'Oh, (y/n) there you are. I was wondering where you walked off to. I thought you went back to the boys when I noticed that you were gone. Are you alright? You seem a little shaken up.'

'I'm okay, just Malfoy. I'll explain later. Can you guard the door while I change? I don't feel like going back out there.'

---------------------------

You walk towards the great hall with Hermonie, Ron and Harry. You didn't tell the boys what happened. It would be weird for them to know. Hermonie says that you should tell Cedric.

'He is in your house after all and you are friends with him. Maybe he can do something?' She says quietly so Harry and Ron don't hear.

You can tell she's worried, you can hear it in her voice. Malfoy has never targeted anyone like this, not even Harry.

'Yeah, I may talk to him about it. I'll see if I can find him and I'll talk to you later.'

You walk away and go to the Hufflepuff table. Great, this year your table is by Slytherins. Could this get any worse?

'What was that about?' You hear Harry ask Hermonie.

'Nothing. Just girl stuff.' She says and gives you a smile as they walk to their table by yours.

You find Cedric and run up to him. He turns around and sees you, giving you a hug.

'Cedric, it's so good to see you!' You say with your hands wrapped around his neck.

'Are you okay, (y/n)? You're shaking a little.' He says as he pulls you away.

You both sit down and you tell him what happened.

'Are you serious? What do you think he will do?' He rubs your back, trying to comfort you.

'I don't know, but I really need you. And you can't tell anyone! Please! Only you and Hermonie know and I would really like to keep it that way.'

'Of course. You know I'm here for you.' He gives you a big smile and you lay your head on his shoulder.

You look straight in front of you and you see Malfoy looking right at you. He has one of his glares again. You look away and sit up as Dumbledore prepares his speech.

'This year,' he begins, 'we have some very special guests. Hogwarts will not only be your home, but it will be theirs as well.'

'What is he talking about?' You ask Cedric. He just shrugs his shoulders.

Dumbledore continues. 'So for the first time in a long time, Hogwarts has been chosen to host a legendary event. The tri-wizard tournament.'

The what? You think to yourself. If it's so legendary, why haven't you heard of it?

'For those who do not know, the tri-wizard tournament brings together three schools for a magical contest. One student from each school will be selected and to complete. There is no backing out. If you are chosen, you stand alone. And believe me when I say that these contests are not for the faint of heart, but we will get to that when the time comes. For now, please join in and welcome the ladies from Beauxbatons Academy of Magic.' He finally finishes.

Everyone turns around when the doors open. Girls in blue dresses make their way in dancing though the isles. It was quite elegant and beautiful. At the end they release butterflies and who you assume is their Headmistress walks in.

'She's so tall.' You whisper to Cedric. He looks at you and nods in agreement.

'Next,' Dumbledore starts up again, 'our friends from the north. The Sons of Durmstrang.'

Some boys start walking up the isle with brandishing bo staffs, hitting them against the ground and then start twirling them around. It was quite an exciting thing to watch. A lot of people stood up so they could see what was going on. One boy stopped in front of Dumbledore and blew fire.

'That's him! It's Viktor Krum.' You hear Ron say.

You turn around to look at the door and there you see him--walking with his Headmaster--Viktor Krum. You heard Ron talk about him a lot and you've seen photos. He was a lot better looking in person. You keep your eyes on him as he follows his Headmaster up to the front towards Dumbledore.

'I think I might try for the tournament, if I'm allowed to.' You hear Cedric say.

You look at him in surprise. 'Why? You heard Dumbledore. It's supposed to be really dangerous.'

Cedric just laughs a little. 'What? You think I can't handle myself?'

'No, it's not that, I just worry. That's what I do. Even if freaking Malfoy got chosen I would probably worry.' You look towards Malfoy who happens to be looking at you again. You look back at Cedric. 'If the event hasn't happened in sometime, there has to be a reason. It must not be that safe.'

He just nods his head a little and begins to eat. You decide to skip dinner and head to your common room. You unpack your bags and lay down on your bed, looking up at the ceiling before drifting off to sleep.
