'Will you go to the ball with me?' Harrys asks you right after leaving Defense Against the Dark Arts class.

Before you could answer, the bell rang for the next class.

'Sorry, Harry I got to go. I'll talk to you later.' You say as you run off to your next class.

You sit in class ignoring the teacher, thinking about what you'll say to Harry. I don't want to go to the ball. I hate dancing. I do like dressing nice though. But I absolutely cannot stand dancing in front of other people, plus, I'm not good. But, that would give me an excuse to look pretty. I don't know. I just want to stay in my dorm and read and draw. Seems better than a ball.

Harry is waiting for you outside class and you let out a annoyed sigh without realizing.

'You don't have to answer me this second (y/n). We still have another week. I just wanted to walk to dinner with you.'

'Thank you. I do need sometime to think about it. How was your class?' You ask him.

'Bloody annoying. Malfoy kept throwing paper at me. I think he's still mad that I read your note.'

You laugh a little. 'Probably.'

Everyone still talks about what happened to you, but it doesn't bother you anymore. You have amazing friends and nothing will bring you down. You are a Hufflepuff after all.

You sit down at your table next to Cedric and smile at him.

'Have you got a date to the ball yet?' He asks you.

You ignore him and start putting food on your plate. Cedric grabs ahold of your hand and you look at him.

'Does that mean yes?! Does miss (y/n) (l/n) have a date to the ball?' Cedric asks a little too loudly.

'Shh.' You say to him. You start whispering. 'Kind of? Harry asked, but I haven't given him an answer yet.'

'Why not?!'

'Because, Cedric. I hate dances. I've never been fond of them and never have a good time, plus, I think it would be awkward since he knows I like him and I threw up in front of him'

Cedric chokes on his food and starts laughing. He laughs so loud that everyone in the great hall is looking at you guys.

You slap his shoulder but he doesn't stop laughing.

'Knock it off! Everyone is looking!'

You turn around and see Ron, Harry and Hermonie giving you a look and you mouth 'later.' Then you look over at the Slytherin table and see Malfoy staring daggers.

'Well, he's obviously interested in you if he asked!' He says smiling, continuing to stuff food in his mouth.

You look back at your plate. 'Or maybe everyone is taken and I'm the last resort. Or, he feels sympathy for me because of what happened.'

'He's not like that. You two have been friends ever since you came here. He wouldn't do that to you.'

Maybe he's right. 'I mean we did kiss.'

'YOU WHAT?!' Cedric yells at you, slamming his fork down.

I said that out loud? Shit.

'That's it, we're going to the common room, now!' Cedric grabs you by the arm and drags you out of the great hall.

'But Cedric, I'm not done eating yet!'

'Don't care, we're going. There's always breakfast in the morning.'

You reach the common room and because you both left dinner so early, it's just the two of you in the common room. You sit on the couch and Cedric sits beside you with his hands under his chin, like a child.

'Go on, spill the details.' You blush a little when you think about telling someone. You haven't even told Hermonie yet.

'Okay, fine. But this stays between us. Got it? I plan on telling Hermonie soon anyway.' You take a deep breath and start talking. 'So, before Pansy let the whole school know what was in my diary, she came to me first. Harry, Ron, Hermonie and a few other Gryffindor's heard what she said, so I decided to skip my classes obviously. Then I was sitting by the Black Lake under a tree when the three of them came up to me to try and make me feel better.

Well, it was just Harry and I left and he decided to walk me be back to the common room. He tried to tell me that things were okay, but I broke down crying, telling him that it was my fault everything happened. And he wiped away my tears and kissed me.' You say blushing, hiding your face in your hands. 'I thought things were going to be awkward, but they weren't until he asked me to the dance.'

Cedric just sits silent. You look at him and he is just staring at you with a big smile on his face.

'What?' You ask him with the same grin.

'Go with him! He's obviously into you! If things get too awkward then you can find me. I'll be with Cho and I'm sure she would love to meet you.'

'You didn't tell me you had a date! Tell me all about her!' You say jumping up and down on the couch like a kid about to get candy. 'Come on Ced! Tell me! Tell me! Tell me! Tell me!'

'Okay! Fine!' So Cedric starts to tell you all about Cho.

You both just sit and talk together, making you forget about everything. He talks about Cho and you talk about Harry. You thought about bringing up Malfoy, but you know that would ruin the moment.

'She sounds lovely, I need to meet her then.' You say smiling.
