Today is the day of the first tournament. It's almost the end of November and is absolutely freezing outside so you dress in pants, a red long-sleeved shirt, black knee high boots and a long coat, you'll save the hat for outside. You walk down to lunch and sit with Harry at the Gryffindor table. There are no classes today and that means you can sit wherever you want at the tables, a rare thing, but it does happen.
'Hey, Harry, how are you feeling about today?' He's already dressed in his team uniform.
'Nervous, I have a feeling I'm going to get that horntail that we seen. But, I guess on the bright side, Professor Moody said that I am allowed to have my wand. Whatever use that'll give me.'
'Could you use it to get your broom? You are a great flyer, that could give you an advantage... maybe.' You say, trying to help calm him.
'I'm not sure.' He says picking at his food.
It's just us at the table. No one else is sitting anywhere near him. Hermonie and Ron are at the Hufflepuff table talking to Cedric. You glance over at them and Hermonie gives you a nervous smile. You also quickly look over at the Slytherin table to see Malfoy staring at you. You both make eye contact and just stare at each other. He gives you an evil look before looking away, grabbing something out of his bag.
'Did you hear me (y/n)?' Harry asks.
'I'm sorry, no. Can you repeat that?'
He sighs. 'How long do you think Ron is-' he stops talking when a piece of paper lands in front of you.
You don't even grab it, you just look at it. Harry takes it and opens it. You look back at Malfoy and now he's fuming.
'Do you want to read it?' Harry asks.
'No,' you say without breaking eye contact with Malfoy, 'just rip it up.'
Harry does what you say and rips up the paper. You look back at Harry and he seems upset.
'Are you sure you don't want to know? I can tell you if you want.'
'No, I'm okay. Let's go back to talking about how to help you with this tournament.'
You both talk about the pros and cons of the horntail (since that's the only dragon you know about), but there aren't any pros, mainly cons. You grab his hand and tell him that you'll be there for him and he will be okay.
---------------------
'Harry, you're pacing.' You say as you sit on one of the beds in the tent. He looks at you and continues pacing. You walk up to him and grab his shoulder. 'Harry, stop. If you get nervous, just try and find me in the stands, if you get a chance. I'll be there, it'll be okay.'
'Harry?' You both turn to the other side of the tent. It's Hermonie. 'Are you okay?'
'Yeah.' Harry says quietly.
She doesn't say anything before running inside and giving him a hug.
You all notice a flash and see Rita Skeeter standing on the other side of the tent.
'Ah, young love!' She says with a grin, she tries to say something else, but Viktor Krum tells her to leave. She doesn't and starts talking to him instead.
Dumbledore walks in and gathers all the champions around Harry. He notices you and Hermonie and asks what you both are doing here.
'Sorry.' You say.
'Well go.'
'Good luck Harry.' You add before you and Hermonie exit the tent.
You and Hermonie walk up the stands. She locks her arm in yours as you walk up the stairs.
'I just wanted to apologize about everything. I was mad. But now that it's came down to it, I'm scared for him. I feel awful for how I acted towards you and Harry both. It really wasn't fair... to you especially.' She stops talking when we reach our seats. 'Oh, I hope you don't mind, but we're sitting with Ron.'
'That's okay. Better than alone or with Malfoy. We all need each other right now, this is scary.'
Ron joins you and Hermonie sometime later and apologizes to you as well. You all just sit and chat until you notice a few rows down from you is Malfoy.
'Why can't he just go somewhere else? I bet he wants us to hear him yell about Harry.' You say annoyingly.
'I hope Potter gets burnt. I bet Potter won't survive. Potter this and Potter that.' Ron says mimicking him.
You guess he heard because he looks over in your direction. He gets up and walks over to you and Ron and Hermonie.
'I think he heard us.'
'You,' he says while glaring at you and then to Hermonie and Ron, 'I need to talk to you, come with me.'
'No,' you say annoyingly, 'I'm staying here.'
He comes closer to you and whispers in your ear.
'I can tell them about what happened in the common room.' He says slyly.
Your face turns red and you tell Hermonie that you'll be back.
'If I'm not back in five minutes, come find me.'
You grab your bag and follow Malfoy under the bleachers and you start talking first.
'Make this fast,' you say as you put your bag down onto the ground, 'I don't want to miss the tournament and I don't think you want Hermonie punching you again if she has to come down here.'
'Why did you let Potter read the note?'
'Why does it matter? Can't you tell I don't want to be near you!' You say annoyed. You can feel your blood start to boil.
'Because it was for you and he wasn't meant to read it. You've been spending more time with him. Why?'
'Are you spying on me now? It's none of your business who I hang out with and who cares that he read the note. It clearly wasn't important since he didn't tell me about it. He asked if I wanted to know and I said no. If it was so important he would've told me anyway.'
'I know you said no, you were looking at me when you said it.' He steps a little close to you, closing the space between you. 'There's a reason he didn't tell you. It's beca-' he gets cut off by the sound of a canon.
'Goodbye, Malfoy.' You say and head back to the bleachers to find Ron and Hermonie.
