Who says that people who work in offices can't look stylish? I certainly didn't!
People who work in offices who don't put any effort into their outfit aren't worth hiring. If I was their boss, I would take one look at their fashion sense, know that they aren't putting in any effort when it comes to style....and fire them! It's harsh, but it's the truth.I hate when people put zero effort into their style. In my opinion, what's the point of living when you don't have good style?
When all else fails in your life and you feel like there's no point in living, fashion can help save you from the tornadoes of the world. Whenever I'm struggling in life, I like to put all of my focus on fashion.I have some super simple fashion tips to share with you for when you are stuck in the office and you have nothing to keep you going.
Looking stylish for the office has never been made so simple and I am going to share with you some of my tips for looking stylish at work!Make sure that your shoes are kept clean most of all. There is nothing worse than walking into an office with a smart suit and work outfit, but your shoes are muddy and dirty.
In my opinion, the final touch to make an outfit complete is to add a pair of nicely polished and clean shoes. If you are smartly dressed but your shoes aren't clean, I would suggest reconsidering whether your outfit looks nice....
If you have a tattoo somewhere on your body, try covering it up. If it's somewhere clearly visible on your body, try covering it up with something that fits the guidelines and doesn't look out of place in any way.
You still need to make sure that you are sticking to the office guidelines because the whole reason why you need to cover up your tattoo is because you need to stick to the office outfit guidelines, so it would be rather silly if you cover up your tattoo but don't stick to every other asset of the guidelines. If you have a neck tattoo, try covering it up with a scarf and if you have a small wrist tattoo, go for a large watch. If there isn't an easy way to hide your tattoos, be open and honest with your boss and let them know about your tattoos, even if it costs you your job. (There are plenty of other jobs in the world so don't just have your heart set out on the one that you're in.)
If you are in a job that you love and are scared to lose it because of your tattoo, you should consider getting it removed. Make a choice between your tattoo and your job.
Watch your nail game. If you are anything of a beauty freak like me and you love having nice looking nails, you may want to check the guidelines for beauty.
A lot of jobs only require neat and simple hair, subtle looking makeup and only certain colours on your nails. So sorry to disappoint you ladies, but a lot of jobs only allow well groomed nails and few restrictions on colours. There probably won't be any exceptions for nail art either.Check with your boss to see which colours they accept your nails to be and if you still want the confidence through your nails, just add a plain canvas of clear polish. You'll be sure to feel like the most confident boss lady out there!
Stock up on accessories. If you want to go to the office but don't like dressing in the clothes provided by the office guidelines, just stock up on accessories.
I can understand why some women don't like dressing in their office attire because they will feel boring, plain and just a copy of everyone else around them. But if you want to dress differently from everyone else whilst still keeping your job, I would suggest filling your wardrobe with accessories that make you feel more confident, relaxed and more you.
When I talk about stocking up on accessories, I don't mean that you should go all-out and make your outfits add some bling and boldness to your overall look, but just adding a little bit of accessories can go a long way and can boost your confidence loads.Things like scarves, bangles, rings and hair accessories will fit perfectly with your office attire. If you tone-down your accessories a little to match your office outfit, I'm sure your boss won't mind and might possibly be glad to see someone stylish around the building!
Make sure that you look perfect. Don't just make sure that your shoes are perfect....make sure that every aspect of you is perfect. I'm talking about making sure that your hair, shoes and everything in between is in perfect condition.
Don't settle for anything less than perfect when it comes to your office outfit.
It's actually a good thing if you are constantly checking yourself in the mirror for any imperfections and flaws about your appearance during working days because it shows that you care about your reputation in the office and about how you look.
If you check your appearance loads of times in the reflection in front of your boss, you'll be sure to get that extra credit!Experiment with colours. If you want to look that little bit more glamorous in the office, try experimenting with colours to see which colours go together and which colours do not.
Seasonal colour analysis can do so much at first glance but you have to really study the art of colour to know which colours best go together.
You will learn as time goes on which colours best suit you and which colours don't do any favours to your features.
Research the colour analysis a bit more to find out which colours best work for you and convert it back to the office.Everyone has different views on which colours best work together but try and listen to what you think is best because at the end of the day, it's all about you and how you choose to dress yourself.
Look at your peers for competition. The people who work alongside you will have roughly the same....if not the same outfit guidelines so it's a good thing to look at them for inspiration.
You should also know which of your colleagues has your boss wrapped around their little finger because the chances are that the ones who your boss takes to has the best fashion sense.
If your job is based around fashion, you definitely need to up your fashion game in front of your boss because they will be taking note of your fashion experience.A stylish suit. If all else fails, why not wear a stylish suit?
Suits are so in right now so it would be rude not to go into the office at least once a week dressed in a stylish suit. I'm sure your boss wouldn't mind, (he'd probably be pretty impressed with your fashion sense!)Wear it with confidence. A good tip of mine for office wear is to wear whatever you feel confident in or else what's the point?
Wearing your style with confidence can help your overall appearance. You will look much happier and you will also feel much happier too. There's honestly nothing that could compete with wearing confidence.
A confidence and a smile are the prettiest things that a woman can wear so dress, (within the guidelines) how you want to dress and don't stress the little stuff. If you feel really insecure about your office outfit.... If you have really tried everything in your power to get an office outfit to best meet your standards but nothing has worked, just wear the outfit when you need to and as soon as you are out of working hours, you can change into something more comfortable, more fashionable and more....YOU!
Those are my top tips for great office fashion sense so that you can never make up any excuses about not being able to dress stylish for the office.
