Every body is different and every body is beautiful, just you remember that.

Have you ever wanted to look like an hourglass figure? Because I know that I have!

The hourglass figure consists of full breasts, hips and shoulders about the same length with a defined waist that is significantly smaller than the hips and shoulders. Most would say that the hourglass figure is considered to be the sexiest and most feminine body shape that a woman can have.

Some of your favourite female celebrities have the perfect hourglass body shape such as: Marilyn Monroe, Beyoncé, Brigette Bardot and Nicki Minaj.

Would you like to look like your favourite celebrity and have an hourglass shape without having to cut out any sweets and chocolate?Because it sounds like heaven, right?

Well, in today's blog post I am going to share some of my best tips on how to look like you have an hourglass shape without having to cut out any food groups.
It's no big deal if you don't have a curvy hourglass figure, but if that's something that you'd like to achieve, then keep on reading!

But before I get started, I would like to point out that every body shape is beautiful, but the reason why I am advising women to dress for an hourglass shape is because the hourglass figure is what attracts the most attention.

Nourish your mind and body. The most important step to achieving the hourglass shape is to nourish your mind and body.

Hourglass shapes are curvy and feminine and people with those figures don't starve themselves to achieve their look, and neither should you.

The best way to achieve the hourglass look is by eating proper nutrition and balancing your meals.

Rather than focusing on "healthy" and "unhealthy" foods, try eating food to nourish your mind and body. This way, you will create a good balance and you won't need to starve yourself or binge on the "unhealthy" foods.

Yoga. I have recently got into the swing of doing regular yoga and I must admit that I don't know how I managed to be happy and healthy without it.

Yoga is a good form of exercise and you can still have fun and have a good laugh doing it.
If you're sat at a desk all day with hardly any activity or body movement, I think that you and your body would really benefit from doing a bit of yoga each week.

But if you are getting started with yoga, I would suggest that you try not to focus on the weight loss or the workout side of yoga, but rather focus on getting your health back.

Yoga is a healthy form of living and it shouldn't be used in order to lose weight.
Losing weight just to look like a certain body shape isn't going to get you anywhere in life and it will probably make you so miserable and unhappy.
It's best if you manage to style yourself and your body without having to alter your diet or lifestyle. I think that yoga is the perfect way to carry on living a healthy lifestyle whilst also lifting your mood.

Focus on the waist. When creating the look of an hourglass shape, you're going to want to focus on creating and defining a waist. Knowing how to define your waist is quite tricky, but once you know how it will be as easy as pie.

My easiest tip is to add a waist belt to your look and although this tip is effective and essential to creating a waist, there are other tips out there that will also help you to achieve the desired look.

Another tip is having one big button on a blazer that buttons up at the mid-section to draw the garment in at the waist.

It's as easy as that. So if you want to create the hourglass figure, my biggest tip is to focus on creating a defined waist more than anything else on this list.

Dresses are your best friend. Dresses were practically made for the hourglass figure!

Depending on your problem areas and what body shape you have, you need to study which dresses best suit your situation and body shape.

When wearing and styling a dress to create the desired effect, you need to study the guidelines of wearing dresses for an hourglass shape.
Focusing on areas such as your legs, waist, cleavage and neckline are all part of creating the desired body shape.

And remember, if all else fails, just throw on a waist belt that cinches in at the waist to draw some definition to the area.

Invest in a good bra. Some women don't like to buy the good stuff when it comes to underwear as they think that it doesn't matter since no one will be seeing it, but that is wrong on so many levels.

You need to wear a good bra in order to look proportional on top. Because if you were a bra that's too big or padded, you will look "top-heavy" which isn't a good look. And if you wore a bra that was too small, it wouldn't feel nor look right on your bust so you should make sure to invest in a good bra that can support your bust and one that will make your body proportionate.

Wear heels. When you wear heels, you elongate your legs which will make you look sexy and more curvy.

By elongating your legs, you are drawing more attention to them and away from wherever you feel insecure.
Your slender legs can also give off the appearance of you being an hourglass shape.

Wearing heels is also a way to spice up your style instead of wearing boring sneakers all the time.

Show that neckline. Necklines are considered to be sexy, so when you show them off you will be grabbing people's attention from afar.

The best part about being able to show your neckline is that you can choose how you want to present it. If you want to remain private and reserved, keep your cleavage under wraps and show a teaser if your neckline.

Showing off your neckline will give you more of an hourglass appearance especially with the right bra and a waist belt as you will be showing off your curves which is the number one rule for dressing like an hourglass shape.

However you want your outfit to come across, you can show off that neckline in a way that captures exactly what you were looking for.

Create some curves. Like I always say, "an hourglass figure consists of many curves."
And it's true.

It's easy to create curves and add them to your silhouette. An easy way to dress yourself curvy, is by owning clothes that are formfitting but not tight on you, nips in at the waist, gently hugs the hips and falls gracefully over the thighs and calves.

Most of the tips that I have provided in this blog post can also be used to create a curvy silhouette.
And if you are still looking for ways to create some sexy, girlish curves, I would suggest hiring a personal stylist who will help guide you into dressing for your curves and body shape.

The little exceptions. If you haven't quite got an hourglass figure but would like to achieve the look of one, you can make little style exceptions that gals with real hourglass figures can't usually get away with.

An example of an exception for your body shape is that if you are a little insecure about your weight and body, you are allowed to wear oversized clothes.
But when wearing oversized clothes, you should not embrace your size by leaving it like that. When you wear oversized clothes whilst trying to achieve the hourglass figure, you should add a tight belt to define the waist and midsection.

Another tricky situation would be if you have a rather large bust and top half but you want to draw attention to your beautiful face and waistline. In this situation, I would suggest common shirts that both the hourglass figure and the inverted triangle can wear such as peplums or wraps because you can draw attention to your neckline whilst taking the attention away from your bigger bust and wrapping the top around your waistline to define the area.

If all else fails. If you feel that an hourglass shape is too bold a look for you, or if you prefer the way that you are currently dressing for your body and shape, you should just embrace who you are and love the body that you were born in.

Like I always say, "every body is different and every body is beautiful." Just accept the body that you were gifted.
Your body does so many things for you so you should repay it with nothing but love and respect.

At the end of the day, how much you weigh doesn't matter, because it's how you dress for your body that counts.
