Your wardrobe depends on it.

What am I talking about, you may ask. Well, let me tell you....

Everyone wants to look like they're doing well in their job and that they've got a promotional wage, but not everyone can afford that. (I can also relate to this, because I'm not made of money.)

That's why I've made this blog post. I decided that it was time to share my secret tips on how to make affordable fashion look expensive!

So stay tuned if you want to look expensive on a budget.

1. Do your hair/makeup/nails. When you take care of yourself, you actually look ten times more expensive than if you weren't.

I know it may not sound like much, but the results sure are worth it!

When you do your hair, makeup and nails: you look like the type of person who takes care of themselves and uses their money wisely. When your nails are done to a professional level: people will instantly think that they've been done by a professional, (even if you did them yourself) and it will look like you've got the extra cash to spend on your outfit.

Your hair should always be brushed properly, (I would recommend brushing your hair twice daily: once in the morning and once at night, so that you get the best results) and make sure that when you leave the house, your hair is never greasy.
Having greasy hair will ruin your entire outfit. Even if you're head-to-toe in the most stylish wear, if you have greasy hair, you aren't going to look good.
So make sure that you wash your hair regularly and carry around a bottle of dry shampoo with you incase you need to hide the embarrassment from your peers.

With your makeup: try and not overdo it. You want to look expensive and classy, but never cheap and trashy. This means that you need to master the art of makeup before you take it to the streets.
I would suggest that you practice in the comforts of your own home, (where nobody else will see you) and only go out in public once you have mastered the techniques needed in making your makeup look professional.

Also make sure that when you are using makeup: you also use the right tools to apply the products.
You can own the most expensive makeup brands in the world but if you have a rubbish set of tools, you are leading yourself into a disaster!

2. Don't show too much skin. Showing too much of your skin in one outfit can give off the wrong impressions to the wrong kinds of people.

Let's say that you're going for a job interview, (just an example!) and you turn up with a short-sleeved button top that shows your arms and your cleavage, (cleavage is never good for a job interview by any means!) and your short skirt is showing your bare legs. What would your job interviewer say? Do you think he/she would be happy with your choice of outfit?

An important rule that I always mention is one that I think should apply in most situations when you are picking your outfit. You should show either your legs or your cleavage: but never both. Showing both won't do you any favours.

When you show a lot of skin, it makes you look cheap and trashy.
But when you show little to hardly any skin at all, you are giving off a secretive vibe, (which is what people like job interviewers will love!)

Disclaimer: Before we go on any further with this blog post, I would just like to state that I am not saying that you should always cover up, because I know how misogynist men, (and women) can be with the whole sexist attitude, but I'm merely advising you on how to look more expensive on a cheaper budget.

Okay, on with the next tip....

3. Fit is everything. You wouldn't really think about getting clothes that fit you when first taking care of styling yourself. But it's true when they say that "fit is everything."
