Deja Vu

After thinking long and hard about it Saturday and Sunday, Liam decided that the best course of action would be to try and avoid Aiden at all costs. Again he realised that this was stupid as they shared the same friend group and there was always a high chance Aiden was doing exactly the same. The problem was he knew that as soon as he saw him again his body language would give him away plus the fact his cheeks turned a tomato red colour every time he remembered Friday evening.

Luckily for Liam the evidence on his neck had mostly faded by now. He had generously applied some of his sisters concealer to a few remaining marks which seems to of done the trick.

As a result Liam was seriously contemplating bunking off however his dad was off work Monday morning and had decided to do them a favour and drop both Liam and his sister off at the bus stop. This then left him limited options with one of them being getting off at school, crossing the road and then getting the bus home again which proved problematic due to the fact his dad was also there. His problems escalated further when Dom and Weasel met  him on the bus and proceeded to drag him to school regaling him with tales of the weekend. His last opportunity to escape were now the toilets and unfortunately Weasel declared that he was also dying for a slash and followed him in there.

"So did you have fun this weekend?"asked Weasel carefully, his eyes pointing downwards making Liam feel slightly uncomfortable standing in the adjoining urinal. It also didn't help his urgent need to pee.

Liam mind went blank for a moment as all thought of Aiden and everything else slipped from his memory under Weasels scrutinising gaze.

Weasel gave Liam a look, followed by an exaggerated eye roll, "At Ground Zero".

"Oh!"Liam exclaimed as realisation hit him. "Yeah it was a good night. Obviously very different from where we normally go".

Weasel nodded his head in agreement, "It seemed like it would be your sort of place".

Liam frowned, "What do you mean by that?" He asked defensively.

Weasel chuckled and patted Liams arm, "Exactly what you think I mean" before leaving to quickly wash his hands. He then exited the toilets, not looking back to say goodbye and leaving Liam alone in his thoughts.

..............,,...

Before Liam could blink lunch time had arrived and with it brought about feeling of anxiety as he braved himself to join their usual table. Thankfully Aiden was still in the queue for the canteen giving Liam a few minutes to pull himself together. He sat down opposite Jimbo who was already seated and digging into his cheese and tomato pizza while Dom who came with Liam chose the seat on the right of Liam. Monday's Weasel went to music club which at least meant the lunch hour would be more peaceful without the usual bickering.

"Here"says Aiden, tossing Liam a can of coke. His brown eyes not quite meeting Liams blue ones.

Liam caught it, just  and looked at Aiden and the can confused.

Aiden shrugged and sat down next to Jimbo, "The vending machine gave me an extra one".

"Oi what about me?"asks Jimbo in mock annoyance. Dom too looked surprised.

Liam nodded thanking Aiden although slightly confused as he swore he saw Aiden buying two cans of coke at the counter along with his sausage roll and chips. Not that he had been watching Aiden...much.

"Hey, fancy going on a double date this Saturday?"asked Dom suddenly to Liam.

Liam eyed Dom cautiously, "Not particularly. With who? Not Trina and Cassie?".

He noticed Aiden had now taken an interest in their conversation although was trying to hide it and look disinterested by continuing to play candy crush on his phone except his hazel eyes said otherwise. Liam stared back daring him to say something.

Dom nodded eagerly. Things were going well between him and Trina now that they had exchanged numbers and were now texting each other regularly. It also helped that she was the first girl to say yes to his advances.

"Who knows maybe Cassie will give you a repeat performance"said Dom wiggling his eyebrows suggestively as he took a large bite out of his egg mayonnaise baguette. Jimbo eyed the baguette and his nose wrinkled in disgust by the smell.

Liam rolled his eyes, "I'm pretty sure Cassie does not like me like that". He opened up his bag of crisps and shoved them in his mouth.

"Isn't it a bit weird going after a girl that one of your mates has just shagged?"Laughed Jimbo, interrupting the conversation.

"I'll make an exception for Trina"said Dom, refusing to rise to the bait."Besides I don't suppose it bothers Aiden".

"Trust me I don't fucking care who you get balls deep into"Aiden snapped irritably.

The others blinked, slightly surprised by Aidens bluntness.

"Wow. Who crawled up your arse and died"Jimbo laughed awkwardly and patted Aidens shoulder, trying to relieve some of the tension in the room. Aiden simply glared back and moved Jimbos hand forcibly from his shoulder.

"I'm not sure"said Liam, finally,  wanting to change the subject. "I don't have a lot of money left after last Saturday. Besides Cassie and I have agreed just to be friends".

"Wait a minute..."Jimbo interrupted, his fingers pointing accusingly at both Dom and Liam. "I almost forgot but I figured Weasel was bullshitting me earlier anyways. Is it true you all went to a gay club on Saturday?".

Aidens eyes widened as he snorted out the coke he was drinking.

"Not by choice!"Dom snapped defensively. "We didn't actually realise what sort of club it was until we got there".

Liam grinned at his reaction and then glanced at Jimbo and Aiden, his eyes lingering longer than necessary. His gaze was met a few seconds later by Aidens curious brown eyes. "You both missed quite a night".

"I don't think I missed much"Aiden said softly, pointedly staring in Liams direction. Liams cheeks began to burn slightly. Aiden shook his head, facing downwards as he tried to hide the small smile on his face.

"Why the fuck would Weasel take you guys to a gay nightclub anyway?"frowned Jimbo, confused.

Dom shrugged, "Fuck knows. The guy has a weird sense of humour".

Jimbos eyes glistened slightly, "So did either of you pull?".

"If you mean Trina then yes"Dom announced proudly.

Jimbo stared pointedly at Liam.

"No".

"Technically you did get that barman's number"said Dom

Liams head snapped back in annoyance as he heard Jimbo burst out laughing.

Aiden coughed awkwardly, "Hey, Liam you said you have some notes to give me for Politics. Is it alright if we get them now?".

Blinking, Liam slowly nodded and slowly got up from his chair and Aiden scrapped his chair back and started walking. Waving goodbye to the others, Liam jogged quickly down the hallway to catch up with the dark hair boy.
