Liam woke up with a groan and for a minute he wondered where he was as he stared at the grey bedroom walls. He stared at the sleeping boy next to him and smiled fondly. His body hurt all over due to the fact that on the way home he had the great idea for the two of them to sneak into the golf course at the back of Aidens house and watch the stars. Rolling round in the dirt and grass getting frisky had seemed fun at the time but now Liam felt a pang of regret as he inspected the numerous bruises dotted over his body and the strange rash on his hip bone where Aiden had accidentally rolled him into some stinging nettles.
He was suddenly aware he was being watched as he turned and saw Aiden who was looking at him with a huge grin plastered across his face.
"You might need to borrow a scarf today"he commented, biting his bottom lip in restraint.
Liam glared at him in annoyance and gave him a light hearted thump in the chest. Only for his mouth to widen slightly as he took in Aidens appearance. The boy was literally covered in hickeys and scratch marks and he hadn't even seen his back yet.
Liam flushed slightly, "I'll let you off just this once".
Aidens eyes narrowed, "What you actually mean is I look just as bad".
Liam awkwardly scratched the back of his neck and nervously laughed, "Yeah. Last night wasn't the greatest idea we had".
Aiden opened his mouth in protest, "Dobt blame me! Last night was your idea! I had some plans of my own".
Liam raised a brow, "oh yeah? Like what?".
Aiden simply hummed and lifted his hand and ran it affectionately through Liams hair. He then stopped and hesitated, looking like he wanted to say something but then clearly decided against it.
Liam sighed loudly, moving closer to Aiden underneath the duvet cover immediately feeling heat radiating from the other boys body. "What?".
Aiden scooped the smaller boy into his embrace and planted a kiss on the top of his head. "Nothing".
"It didn't seem like nothing"commented Liam as Aiden kissed him again but this time on the lips. "And stop trying to distract me!".
Aiden smirked and then kissed him again but this time it was long and hard and made Liams toes curl from under the duvet. He pulled away and stared back at Liam, "I....what do you want Liam?".
Liam frowned, confused, "What do you mean what do I want?".
"With us? What do you want to happen?".
Liam paused not quite sure how to answer the question. Not quite brave enough to be completely honest with the dark haired boy lying next to him. "I don't know. What do you want to happen?"he asked softly.
Aiden gave Liam a pointed look, "That's cheating. You've just returned my question with another question".
Liam rolled his eyes. "I like you okay. I like you a lot. I don't know what that means for us and to be honest the whole thing kind of scares me but at the same time not doing anything also kinda scares me too",
Aiden grinned, tightly squeezing Liams body and giving him a loud kiss on the lips. "I like you too. I kinda want us to try be a couple and go on silly dates and things. I don't know about you but I just want it to be you and me and no one else". Aiden let out a deep breath and then chuckled, "There I said it",
"It's kinda been just you and me from the very beginning"said Liam softly looking into the other boys dark brown eyes.
Aiden looked slightly relieved, "There's been no one else for me either since that night".
"So does this now mean that your my boyfriend?"asked Liam hesitantly.
Aiden chuckled softly and planted a small kiss on the end of the other boys nose. "No running away from me now and without sounding too cheesy yes I'm your boyfriend and you are 100% mine".
..............................
The boys eventually got up around noon with Aiden lending Liam some of his clothes again. Liam stared for a few minutes looking at the large oversized T-shirt which said I love New York on it and raising a questioning brow at his boyfriend.
"What?"asked Aiden innocently. "You still have my favourite band T-shirt at home. No way am I making that mistake again!".
"One I couldn't exactly give you give it back to you washed"pointed out Liam before smiling sweetly at Aiden and planting a kiss on his cheek. "And two I'm not giving that top back. It's officially mine now".
"Is it really?"asked Aiden looking at his boyfriend in amusement.
Liam grinned and nodded before getting dressed into the offending top, boxers and sweats before following his boyfriend down the stairs to eat some breakfast. Their laughter and banter ended as they were both greeted by Aidens mum in the kitchen.
"Morning boys"Mrs Carter said, standing against the kitchen surface sipping a cup of coffee like her life depended on it. "Late one last night was it?".
"Not really"answered Aiden taking out two bowls and opening the cereal cupboard. He turned to Liam, "Weetabix ok for you?".
Liam nodded and then teased, "I'm slightly disappointed your not offering me a fry up".
Mrs Carter laughed while Aiden choose to ignore the teasing and proceeded to make their breakfast. "Aiden has a tendency to burn toast. I dread to think of the damage he could do to my kitchen".
"Hey! I made a mean tuna plait that time at school"protested Aiden. He turned to his look at his mum and then casually added, "Oh I don't know if you remember my friend Liam".
"Hi Mrs Carter"greeted Liam, blushing slightly.
"You can call me Jill, Liam. Nice to see you again"she said, putting her empty coffee cup into the sink and giving it a quick rinse.
Mrs Carter turned to grab the tea towel when her eyes narrowed slightly as she moved over to Aiden, her finger tip lifting his chin up gently as she carefully inspected his face and then glanced back at Liam. "Looks like both of you had a good night last night"she said in a slightly amused tone.
"Mum!"shouted Aiden in annoyance, taking both bowls from the counter and hurriedly leaving the kitchen. "I'm not talking about that with you".
They moved into the lounge and settled on the couch to eat their breakfast. In front of them perched directly in front of the tv was Aidens seven year old brother Matt who sat cross legged playing Minecraft.
"Your not playing this dumb game again"said Aiden rolling his eyes.
"It's not dumb"Matt said defensively without looking up from the screen. "Look do you want to see the fairground I've just built? I've almost finished the Ferris wheel".
"Wow that must of taken you hours"said Liam looking at the screen impressed.
"Don't encourage him!"warned Aiden. "It literally did".
"Want to try it?"asked Matt, looking hopefully at Aiden.
"I will"volunteered Liam, putting down his bowl and joining Matt on the floor who eagerly handed him the controller.
"Suck up"teased Aiden to which Liam responded by shaking his head and playfully sticking his middle finger up at his boyfriend. "Real mature Clarke. You realise your now going to be playing this for the rest of the day".
Liam hummed in response.
