Shota Aziawas POV:

I picked up Faith after she fainted and laid her gently on the couch. Then I turned to Matteo and demanded that he tell me exactly what he saw. He described Faith's memory.

This doesn't make sense. Amber couldn't have been taken. The firemen found the body of a little girl in the girls bedroom. That had to have been Amber. Who else could it be? I thought about what I knew about that night.

My sister told me that she was outside in the garden, picking flowers for the dinner table while the children played in their room. She said it wasn't until she saw the smoke that she realized there was a problem. When she ran to their room, Faith was crawling out of their room. She took Faith to safety, but then the fire was too intense for her to go in again.

I need to find out for certain who that little girl found in the house was. If Faith's memory is correct, then it isn't Amber. That would mean that Amber is still out there, somewhere. But who would take her? I know of only one person with blue fire. But why would he want Amber?

I saw Faith begin to stir. Until I have answers, I need to insure her safety. I looked at Mateo. "Can you block that memory temporarily?"

"But of course, old friend." He smiled. I grimaced. I dislike the little weasel, but sometimes even weasels can be useful. "Then do it." I told him.

When it was done, I picked Faith up to carry her to the car. "Tell Kevin that I said to tell his delightful sister hello for me. Hers are some of my ... fondest memories." I stopped and debated the intelligence of popping that little weasel on his big mouth. Then I looked down at Faith, asleep in my arms. One day. One day he will outlive his usefulness.

I sat Faith in the passenger seat and strapped her in. I turned to see Matteo standing behind me. "Do not breathe a word of this to anyone or you will not live to regret it." I warned him. He chuckled and held up his hands. "I promise, I promise old friend."

"Don't call me old friend." I climbed in the car and headed to a hotel so Faith could get some proper rest. In my focus on my driving, I neglected to see the weasel pull out his cell phone and make a call.
