*NOTE: For now, I guess I'll be focusing mainly on Sans' journey. Maybe a few chapters about stuff going on back on Ebott Island, but we'll see.

Third Person POV, 13th Feb 2019, 6:00PM. Route 6 --> Saffron City.

After that run in with Gyarados, Sans pocketed Gyarados' Pokeball and he and Charizard continued on their way to Saffron city. They were very close, they could see the bright lights of the shining big city. Sans decided it'd be best to really quickly let Gyarados out to heal Gyarados so that he could introduce himself now and so that hopefully the aggressive Pokemon didn't go berserk on him the moment he let him out later on.

"Alright bro, stay on standby, in case something happens," Sans told his starter. Charizard nodded and summoned Praedo for good measure. Sans released Gyarados from his Pokeball. The atrocious Pokemon was still fainted from the battle earlier. Sans began using his blue magic to heal Gyarados, along with the aid of potions.

Suddenly, Gyarados began to stir. He was beginning to wake up, as the effects of the healing items and magic took place. Charizard took a cautious step back, not knowing what to expect from Gyarados. Sans stood his ground. The red water-flying type's eyes snapped open and locked onto the first thing it saw - Sans.

Suddenly, Gyarados stood himself up to full height and looked at Sans with a fierce look in his eyes. Charizard tensed up and was ready to have Praedo fire, but was stopped by a look from Sans. Charizard trusted his brother, so he relaxed a little.

"So. Now I'll assume you caught me and now you're my trainer," Gyarados said with some hatred evident in his voice. Sans nodded. Gyarados looked a bit taken aback that a being that wasn't a Pokemon seemingly understood him. "You can... understand me?" Gyarados asked, unsure. Sans nodded. "Yes I can. Now I'll take a guess and take it that you're not too happy that I managed to capture you?" Sans asked carefully. Gyarados nodded.

"Why is that?" Sans asked. The skeleton really was curious to know why his newest member was annoyed or mad to have been caught.

"Well, wouldn't you be annoyed if you were caught by some lousy trainer who just wants to use you for power and glory?" Gyarados snapped. Even though Sans knew and almost expected this, he was still taken aback. Sans sighed after recovering from his slight shock.

"Well, what if I told you I'm not that trainer?"

Gyarados looked at Sans with a look of pure disbelief. Sans really couldn't blame him. After all, Sans' regular outfit was still covered by the cloak he wore. "W-what do you mean?" Gyarados asked. He sounded like he wanted to believe what Sans had said was true, but was still holding onto his current beliefs and views.

"I mean, I see my Pokemon more of as my family. I look out for them and they look out for me. We got each other's backs," Sans explained.

Gyarados was going through a mental battle. Part of the atrocious Pokemon was screaming at him to keep his guard up, that Sans was just saying these things to lure him into a false sense of security, to manipulate him and then hurt him later. But another part really wanted to just believe what Sans was saying. Part of him recognised the truth behind Sans' words. It was just a decision of which side he wanted to listen to the most.

"I can see you're having a tough decision, so hear it from me," Charizard spoke up. Gyarados's head turned to face where Charizard was standing. The atrocious Pokemon had not even realised Charizard was there. Gyarados gave Charizard a look that told the lizard Pokemon that he was listening.
