Chapter 8

"Do you want me to drop you back off at the motel?" Sam spoke from the driver's seat of the impala and I shook my head "I doubt it's safe, the police are probably there now" he nodded and chuckled softly before his phone rang, he answered but kept his eyes focused on the highway "you're welcome" I looked over to him and he mouthed Dean. I nodded and sat back letting him finish his phone conversation, I zoned out when he told Dean about Joseph and tuned back in when he seemed to get upset.

"I don't understand. I mean, what could be so important that Dad would just skip out in the middle of a job? Dean, what the hell is going on?" I sat up and looked at him suddenly feeling cold before Sam pressed on the brakes causing me to hold my hand out onto the dashboard "Sam what the-" I looked out to see Constance in front of us before she disappeared. I could see my breath in front of my face and my heart quickened when I felt her presence "s-sam" I didn't move.

Her ghostly voice echoed in the car "take me home!" "No" Sam's reply was cold, but I could tell he was slightly shaken up with knowing that I was in the car. The doors locked and I jumped slightly at the sound, my hands flying up to the handles and I struggled to get them open. I looked over noticing Sam mirror my moves before the car started to move on its own. Sam tried to move the steering wheel but he couldn't. I didn't want to die, I was too young and I just escaped my father's grasp.

The car came to a stop at an abandoned house, my eyes widened as I looked out the window. The engine shuts off and so do the lights "don't do this" Sam's hand slightly in front of me as if he was trying to protect me from her "I can never go home" her voice was sad and her appearance flickered. I bit my bottom lip harshly and watched her with equally hurt eyes "you're scared to go home" I spoke, understanding how that felt. Sam glanced over to me and I smiled slightly at him before looking back to see Constance not there.

I looked back to Sam to see her on his lap, I leaned back at her sudden arrival and tried to get the door open again. I felt exhausted as I watched her push him back against the seat "hold me. I'm so cold" "you can't kill me. I'm not unfaithful. I've never been!" She twitched "you will be. Just hold me" she kissed him and I grimaced "sam?!" He struggles and reaches for the keys before she pulls back and suddenly vanishes. I looked at him, "are you okay?" I took off my seatbelt as soon as he yelled out in pain, his hands yanking off his hoodie, three holes matching Constance's fingers littered his shirt.

My eyes widened and I reached over to touch them before she returned, it was as if she had control over me and I was pushed back, my head hit the window and I became disoriented for a second. A gunshot went off shattering the driver's side window. Sam looked over once the ghost vanished and placed his palm on my cheek "Sylvia, are you alright?" I nodded and watched as her ghost continued to appear "seatbelt" Sam spoke up as he fastened his seatbelt. I did as I was told "I'm taking you home" I bit my lip knowing he was talking to the ghost, he drove through the house and I yelped at the impact.

Dean rushed over to my side of the car "sam! sylvia! You two okay?!" I groaned but nodded slowly "I think.." Came out of Sam's mouth "can you move?" "Yeah, help her first" he nodded and pulled me out of the car before setting me down on the ground. He helped Sam by giving him his hand and pulling him out as well. I watched as Constance picked up a picture frame, I assumed it was her and her children. My ribs hurt as I stood up "there ya go" Dean's voice perked up from beside me as he closed the car door.

Sam walked over to me and placed his hand on my shoulder before following my eyes to Constance, Dean doing the same. She glared at us before throwing the frame she was holding towards us. It was distracting as a few seconds after we were pinned to the impala by a bureau. I groaned and watched as water poured down the stairs. Constance walked over. At the top were the Boy and Girl from the photograph. They held hands and spoke in a creepy chorus.

"You've come home to us, mommy" I mumbled under my breath "more ghosts.." They appeared behind her and embraced her causing her to scream and flicker. My eyes widened as I watched her and the two children melt into a puddle on the floor. The boys pushed the bureau over and we all walk over to where they melted "so this is where she drowned her kids" Sam nodded "poetic" he looked at me and I shrugged "that's why she could never go home, she was scared to face them" Dean looked at him "you found her weak spot. Nice work, Sammy." He slapped Sam's chest and I winced knowing that's where Constance stuck her grimy fingers.

"Yeah I wish I could say the same for you, what were you thinking shooting Casper in the face, you freak" "Hey. Saved your ass" I smirked at their brotherly interaction "I hate to interrupt but shouldn't we leave now" they chuckled and "Highway to Hell" by AC/DC begins to play. We glanced at the car "I'll tell you another thing, if you screwed up my car?" He turned around and glared at Sam playfully "I'll kill you".
