" Josie!" My mother yelled from the kitchen.

I walked to the kitchen and found her preparing breakfast.

" Yes mom." I said once she turned around.

" I won't come home early today so I want you to go to Mrs Williams." She said while placing the food down.

" Why?" I asked while frowning my eyebrows

" You are having dinner there because I won't be able to make it." Mom said while giving me a small smile.

" But I can cook for myself." I said while taking a seat

She sighed before rubbing her temple.

" Josie, didn't we talk about you cooking." She said

" B-but I'm old enough." I said

She walked to me and placed her hand on my shoulder.

" Look sweetie, I know you don't like going to Ms Williams but I have to work late hours so I can have enough money for the both of us." She said

I really hate it when she stays late at work because she once told me that her boss sexually harassed her. Why does she still work for him if he doesn't treat her right.

" But mom-"

She interrupted me by kissing my forehead.

" Don't worry her son would be there." She said while winking at me and I blushed.

I couldn't help it, Mrs Williams has one good-looking son who was one year older then me.

" Okay." I said while pouting

After our short conversation she left for work and you probably be wondering why I'm not at school. It's because the school I was supposed to go to was full and my mother is thinking about moving out.

I was in my room staring at the window. I always wondered where my father was. Did he leave me? Did he die? Did he leave mom?

Whatever it was, he probably didn't want me in his life.

I sighed before taking my old samsung out of my pocket.
I pressed the on button but it wouldn't turn on. I sighed before plugging it by the charger.

I hope it isn't broken.

I tried turning it on again and it showed the battery logo.

I sighed in relief before heading to the bathroom to get ready for the day.

I smiled at Mrs Williams as I stood outside. She looked down then up before smiling at me.

" Oh Josie is your mother still home." She said with her high pitched voice

I shook my head.

" Oh that's bad I had someone who I wanted to introduce her to." She said" but you can come in."

I forced my smile and entered after her.

" Jayson Josephine is here!" She yelled and I looked at her with panicked.

Why would she inform him I was here?

Soon I heard footsteps coming downstairs and there he was.

He smiled at me, showing his dimples and I blushed before looking down.

" You can hang in my son's room and I will call you two once dinner is ready." She said and I felt more nervous.

What is this woman playing at.

" Come on." I heard Jayson say

As from there on, I knew I was in trouble.
