April 14, 20XX Tuesday pt. iii
"And then what happened?"
I wrap my arms around my legs, wiping my tears with my knees.
The girls were sitting huddled around me, Yejoon napping happily in his bed now that I was home.
I let out a shaky sigh.
"And then I let Sungjae take me away because I realized that I'm never going to be strong enough to do that on my own."
Jisoo gently rubs my back.
I bite my lip, holding back my urge to cry.
"We're so sorry, Jen." Lisoo wraps her arms around me. "We didn't know it was this bad. We feel awful that we weren't around for you more."
I quickly shake my head. "I tried to act strong and I tried to act like it didn't bother me. It wasn't your fault that I played it off so well."
They continue to comfort me, but I can't help but replay the good times that I had with Taehyung. It makes me sad how his face has become blurry in those precious memories because they've just become so faded.
I've hung around this whole time because I was waiting for him to come back.
"It felt like my whole life went on pause when I lost him. I've been waiting this whole time to hit the play button to continue." I bury my face in my knees. "But after what we said... I don't think that we can ever go back."
Rose tilts her head. "What did you guys say to each other?"
I shrug. "Basically how we felt about this. How we both think we're right. Taehyung wanted to hide the fact that he's aware of what his past was like...at least until he was confident he could keep his memories. I told him that I wasn't going to wait that long, that I wasn't interested in him at that point. That what I really wanted was the old him."
"Is that true?" Jisoo asks me, her eyes scanning my face with concern.
I think about it.
"No," I sniffle. "Of course that I probably would take him back even if he was gone for a year or more. I'm weak."
"No, you're in love." Lisa rests her head on my shoulder. "Taehyung was your first love. How could you forget your first love?"
"I was trying to which is why I sent Sungjae a text message when I was drunk...basically asking him out."
"You what?" Lisa shrieks.
"You were drunk?" Jisoo frowns.
"Drunk...with Taehyung?" Rose raises an eyebrow.
Lisa gives me a look, continuously raising her eyebrows. "What did you guys do?"
I turn crimson. "Mistakes. We did mistakes."
"Did it feel the same."
My head spins, but I give them a little nod. "It did."
Our bodies just knew...
Rose sighs. "So what now?"
"I don't know," I whisper.
Lisa gets onto her stomach and starts browsing through her phone. "You're going to vet school, that's what."
"Hm?"
"I...agree!" Rose grins and looks along with Lisa.
"Guys, I can't afford that right now..."
"Well...just get accepted. It'll change everything. You'll have a goal that feels more real."
I giggle lightly, feeling their support. "I guess... thanks."
"Do you think you'll need to quit your job right now? I'd say come to work with one of us, but you know we don't get paid well."
"I know and I really need good money if I want to get in sooner," I respond, chewing on my lip. "It's fine. It's a pretty big building. If I really wanted to, I can never bump into Taehyung again. Honestly, I wasn't trying to before. Deep down, I wanted to see him again or, I mean I wanted to be seen."
Lisa nods.
Yejoon wakes up, immediately sitting up and staring at all of us.
"Hi baby~" I softly smile at him.
He quickly stands up, holding on to the crib rail. "Mama!"
I go over and answer his little hand gesture, wanting out of the crib.
I kiss the top of his head, suddenly remembering how Jungkook had been taking him to see Taehyung this whole time.
"You know how Jungkook comes over and takes Yejoon on bike rides?"
The girls nod.
"Turns out, he's been taking Yejoon to see Taehyung this whole time."
"What!" Rose stands and Yejoon giggles at her sudden movement. Rose gently tickles his sides.
"That traitor, wait 'til I get my hands on him." Lisa grits her teeth and gets up.
"Girl, sit down." Jisoo tugs on her shirt.
"I haven't told him yet that I know, but I'm going to have to confront him."
"He's definitely more involved in this than you think. Didn't he make you go work for Taehyung?"
I nod, "Yeah kinda had a deal again. He was going to go talk to Yeri if I went back to work for Tae... Yeri and him had a mini break or something."
"Bet they never even broke up." Rose shakes her head, crossing her arms across her chest.
"Let me see." Lisa gets back on her phone, heading straight to Yeri's facebook. I sit on the bed, patting Yejoons back as he rests it against my shoulder.
"I can't tell. She still has pictures of him up, but not for a while so maybe?"
I go over, but what catches my attention fast is her friends list.
I narrow my eyes and get closer to the screen.
"No way," my jaw drops.
"No way, no way, no...way."
In her friends list, was a name that I never expected to see.

Great news! My laptop is coming in today!! I broke it a couple of weeks ago so I had to get a new one. I hope you are all healthy and doing great! I'm better these days.
