The next day, Ella and I got to school an hour early so we decided to wait for the twins and Cole to get to school in the gym and not too long after Cole got to school and we were started talking about the trip.
When the twins came, we had to go to class so we bid Cole goodbye but Cole called me back.
"Whatsup?" I asked. He turned and brought something out of his bag and when i could see what it was I realized it was my poem book.
" my poem book? are you done reading it"
He smiled and said "I think I'm done re- reading every single one of them"
He cleared his throat and started rubbing the back of his head then said " Vick, your poems are amazing, well put aside the fact that they are all depressing". I laughed lightly at that and said
" Why are you suddenly being awkward about it?"
" Well.... There's this annual spoken words thing that we have at my my church and it's happening in a few months. You should come"
" I'll think about it" He nodded and smiled seeming satisfied with my answer.
" well i don't want you to be late to class, get going."
" yeah okay, see you during lunch. bye"
I started making my way towards my class when i heard the only person that could make me throw up faster than eating beans.
"look it's the depressed new girl"
I turned around and said" look, it's the wicked witch of the west"
She started walking towards me like her prey then stopped directly in front of me and said
" Look, stay away from Cole. That's all I ask . If you listen, we will be on good terms"
" If I don't?" She was taken aback by my reply obviously never having anyone tell her no. She narrowed her eyes at me the said "just stay away from Cole he's mine. He doesn't need someone like you in his life"
Honestly this couldn't get any more cliché. Queen bee wants to date cute guy in school then new girl comes and stops the Queen Bee's plan except Cole doesn't like me that way so this is just useless.
" What would someone like me be?"
"A freak"
I scoffed and started walking away. I was not going to let her get me angry. She's just looking for attention that I won't give to her.
I started making my way towards my class until a statement she made caused me to stop and turn around.
"what did you say?"
" I said you are unwanted, never have never will be. Cole and your so called friends don't like you, they are your friends because of pity. Even your parents didn't want you"
That, is how Brittany got a bruised face.
I turned around with feeling satisfied but still made my way to the toilet and brought out my blade.
