The sun shining through the blinds hit me dead in the face, making my eyes shoot open but I squeezed them back shut when I felt the sharp pain. I sat up in bed, stretching and cracking my back. Darryn was still next to me fast asleep snoring and on his stomach, I smiled and ran my hand up and down his bare back before I got up to go get something to drink. When I got in the kitchen Ceaz was there fixing a bowl of cereal shirtless while Shonda sat on the couch with the baby.

"You two are up early," I said, winking at Ceaz as I opened the fridge and grabbed a bottle of orange juice for me and one for Darryn. Ceaz didn't say anything, just grinned at me and started eating.

"I'm glad you two got uh...Comfortable with each other last night," I said, swirling my juice around in the bottle and giggling when Ceaz choked on his food at me saying that. I looked over at Shonda and noticed her blush and pick at the bandage on her nose.

Ceaz wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. "Yeah Kyra we uh..-"

"We know what you did you ain't gotta say anything," I said shadily, raising an eyebrow at him and tiptoeing back to the bedroom. As soon as I got in there my phone started going off, Darryn groaned and plopped a pillow over his head, I giggled and answered it.

"Hey Kobe," I said, having a drink.

"Wassup Ky? Ya'll up or nah?" Kobe asked.

"I'm up, Darryn's still in the bed though what's up?" I asked him.

"I was just calling to see if you two wanted to come over for brunch. Mel's cooking so I'ma need you to be nice. I know ya mouth," he said laughing.

"I ain't gonna say anything but you know I can't control my facial expressions. We'll be glad to come by."

"Alright, cool! I'll let Mel know, she's been excited about having ya'll over since last night especially after meeting you. She's been wanting new friends," said Kobe.

"She seems cool. I'd definitely like to get to know her, what time is brunch though? I don't even know what the hell that is," I said reaching down and pulling off my socks.

Kobe got on me, "You've always been the street one so I'm not surprised, get sophisticated! Brunch is a combo of breakfast and lunch and you eat it before twelve PM."

"Gotcha. So soon then," I said, tossing my dirty socks in the hamper behind the door.

"Yeah and don't be late!"

"We won't be late! Bye boy," I said hanging up on him.

"Darryn, wake up baby," I said, tossing my cellphone on the bed next to him. "We're going over to Kobe's to eat in about two hours."

He pulled the covers all the way over his head. "Two hours, KD? Why you want me up now?"

"We have to get ready, you know how time flies. Here sit up and have some juice," I said sitting next to where he lay.

Darryn sat up and took the bottle of juice from me, unscrewing it and drinking some. "Who cooking, Kobe?"

"No he said Melissa was cooking," I said taking a sip of juice.

"Well I sure hope she can cook better than she did back then," Darryn said.

"So she used to cook for you huh?" I asked, putting the empty juice bottle down and crossing my arms.

Darryn chuckled at that, "Nah she used to be real sweet on Shaun though, that's why him and Jalisa broke up one time was 'cause of Mel. She would come to the house and bring him cooked food like once a week."

"How you know she couldn't cook then?"

"Because he gave the shit to me one time he didn't want it. Tasted like nothing, no kinda flavor," Darryn said getting up from the bed and grabbing a towel.
