Last night's date with KD went real smooth. Everyone was out today and this was the first time in a while I'd had the house to myself. Ceaz went to work and would be there longer hours now and so would Shaun. I let KD have my car to take Shonda to the doctor's for Kaamil's appointment around four right before they closed. There were no phone calls about anybody wanting to shop so I did all the cleaning and everybody's laundry before sitting in the recliner with my beer. Maury was on so I watched that and went through that script some more. I wasn't resting for long before the doorbell rang. Putting my beer aside, I got up to answer it.

"Who is it?"

"It's Mel," she said from the other side.

"KD ain't here," I said walking away to sit back down.

"I didn't come to see Kyra...I came to see you."

"Well you need to go. We don't have nothing to talk about when she not around," I said to the door.

"Please? It'll only be for a few minutes, I promise I won't do anything that would disrespect you and Kyra," said Mel.

I threw my head back in irritation and got up to open the door. "Come in."

I let her sit on the couch and I sat across from her in the recliner.

"You look nice with plaits, who did them for you?" Mel asked.

"KD. What is it that you want, Mel," I asked turning the TV off.

She folded her hands across her lap. "Well, I apologized to Kyra and patched things up with her but I never got to apologize to you so that's what I came for. I was going to wait til she was here but I couldn't...I'm very sorry for tryin' to come between you two.."

"It's fine, you don't have to apologize about it. I still have respect for you Mel so don't take it wrong when I say this; there's no way you can come between me and KD, that girl is too special to me," I let her know.

I could tell she wasn't really trying to get over me by the way she looked down when I said that.

"I understand that and I'm proud to see you're happy..I'll always miss you though, you're still so special to me," Mel said.

I stood up. "Mel I think you should go. It's not good for you to keep holding onto the past, look how good you've got it now," I said, "I know you ain't tryna lose what you got tryna fuck with me."

"Kobe is great, God knows he is, but it's so hard to not think about you all the time...About us," she said standing up and coming closer to me, I backed up.

"Mel you gotta go, for real. That shit is done and you needa get over it," I said, shaking my head. "I have no feelings for you anymore at all."

"You don't mean that!" She said, looking like she was about to cry, "You can't mean it.."

"Look, you apologized to me so let's just leave it at that. You said you wasn't gonna come up in here on nothing else, it's time for you to go."

Mel wiped her tears away. "Fine, I'll go but first I want one last kiss...You were always such a great kisser. I've missed it so much," she said coming towards me.

I walked around behind the couch away from her but she followed me,"No, Mel. You acting real crazy now, I'ma tell you one more time get out my house and don't come back."

"Just one! Kyra doesn't have to know," she said rushing up on me, I held her away. I wanted to throw her ass but I wasn't about to have her hit her head on something and pass out.

"Mel get the fuck off me for real," I said jerking my head away when she stood on her toes to try and kiss me, I almost grabbed her and started dragging her to the door to throw her out when she grabbed my head, forcing me down and kissing me in the mouth. I pulled at her hair but it was like she was suctioned to my face.
