"Hey, bro...You hungry? Shonda cooked some chicken alfredo," Shaun said, peeking in my room.

"Nah, I'm not hungry," I said pulling the covers over my head.

"You sure? You should eat you know you get sick when you don't."

"I'll be in there in a little bit," I said staring at the window ahead of me. Shaun stayed there for a while longer then shut the door.

I didn't want to eat, sleep, or anything til KD came back. I fucked up letting Mel in the house, if I hadn't none of this would be happening right now. More tears fell out my eyes when I thought of that, I wiped them away with the sheet and picked up my phone again to see if she ever called back. Nothing.

"Ryn, you alright?" Shonda asked, poking her head in.

"I'm good."

"You should really get up and eat, you being upset and hungry won't help any," she said.

"I don't wanna eat, Shonda. I want KD."

Shonda came in the room and shut the door behind her, walking around the bed and standing in front of me.

"You're being a big baby look at you! KD will be back, she just needs some time to cool off," said Shonda.

"She won't even let me explain.."

Shonda put her hands on her hips. "Shit if I was her I wouldn't let you explain either. It had to fuck her up seeing you and your ex all lip-locked."

I reached over to the bedside table and grabbed for the bottle of gin I had sitting there, Shonda took it before I could touch it.

"You don't need this, come on, get up," she said sitting the bottle on the floor and pulling at my covers. "You're not gonna lay up in here and drink. She will be back, I promise."

"How come you're so sure?" I asked, unwillingly letting her pull me to my feet.

"'Cause Ceaz told me he went and seen her and she said she would come back tomorrow."

"He saw her? Where she at?" I asked excitedly.

"If I tell you, you got to promise you're not gonna go bothering her tonight."

"Look, I promise. I just need to know so I'll be at ease," I said damn near pleading.

"He said she went back to her old apartment."

"How does he know where her old place is? I don't even know," I said wincing.

Shonda pulled me to the door and let us out of the room. Ceaz said he took her over there to get more of her stuff when you came in pissed off one day and wouldn't talk to nobody."

"Yeah I remember that."

I gotta get him to take me over there..Maybe she's waiting to see if I care enough to come find her. I just wanna talk to her, if she still wants to stay the night there then it's cool with me. At least I'll know I tried.

When we got in the kitchen Ceaz had Kaamil in his arms and was feeding him the bottle. Slim was across from them finishing his plate.

"Hey, dude. Glad to see you up," said Ceaz looking up from the baby.

"You want some eye drops? Your shit is bloodshot," Shaun offered.

"Nah I'm good." I sat down beside him while Shonda fixed me a plate and a glass of water.

"I went back there and made him get up. He knows KD coming back I don't know why he doing the most," Shonda said handing me the stuff.

"For sure. She just mad at you right now. You know how women are," Ceaz said. Shonda thumped him upside the head.
