A/N- My fingers are no longer completely broken yay!!
I studied my reflection in the mirror that stood proudly in the corner of my bedroom; I adored my dress, my shoes and hair. As I looked at my reflection I could help but think to myself 'Do people see my Father in me' or was I just hoping I was like him?
Since I officially met Mister Romano my Father had been very closed off, more than normal. John and Arthur were constantly at the house, my Father's office door shut, they would speak quietly so I couldn't hear. Polly, Michael, even Charlie Dogs had been around more than usual and everyone seemed to be walking on eggshells when they were in the house, I can only think my Father was ready to explode into a fit of rage.
*SMASH*
I jumped at the sound of a glass smashing from my Father's room. I quickly opened my door then headed down the hallway then turned my Father's door handle pushing the door open. The room was brightly lit by the lights, I looked over to the bed to see my Father slumped over with his head in his hands. As I walked into the room I heard a crunch under my foot, I lifted my foot to see parts of the smashed glass on the floor-
"Primrose?" My Father asked.
I turned to look at my Father who was staring at me. "Good evening," I greeted sweetly. "Are you coming to the boxing match or am I going alone?"
I watched as my Father snapped his attention to the clock on the fireplace, then to his watch then to me... Hm had he forgotten or just lost track of time?
My Father cleared his throat. "You look lovely," He told me. "Please sit down, I want to talk to you about tonight."
I gently shut the door then I walked over to the large double bed, I sat down on the edge of the bed next to my Father. Our ocean eyes locked as my Father took in a deep breath then he sighed almost as if he didn't want to have this conversation but he needed to.
"At the boxing tonight Mister Romano will be there and I want you as far away from him as possible," My Father began. "You will take your knife and keep it hidden from view, only use it if you have to. Primrose you stay with the family, do not go exploring or moving around the room to get a better view-"
"Stay where you put me?" I asked sadly.
My Father looked down. "You will be in my sight all night," He stated.
"Just not with you," I mumbled. "You're working and I understand."
Before my Father could say another word I got up off the bed and walked out of the bedroom closing the door a little harder than I did when I entered. I wasn't being mean, well I was but my Father had it coming, he had been working a lot and working late, yes he would try to make it home for dinner but he was always late and I've been told to stay away from his office and he had closed up the vents so I couldn't listen in.
I walked down the stairs then to the coat stand, I picked up my coat and slipped my arms into the sleeves, I did up the buttons and slipped on my peaky cap then I waited very patiently for our car to arrive-
The front door flung open and in strutted my Aunt Polly, she looked amazing. The thing with my Aunt Polly was she was very vintage, she looked dangerous but beautiful, she was as sharp as a knife but she could be as soft as fur and that is what I loved about her, she could be either and you wouldn't know until she killed you.
"Prim, where's your Father?" Polly asked.
I pointed up the stairs. "In his room," I stated with no emotion.
Polly huffed. "Still been shutting himself in his room working?" She asked with a hint of annoyance in her voice.
"Of course," I grumbled.
