Kat (JATP: OC x Reggie)✔️

Bright (part one)

Reggie watched the scene in front of him—Alex trying to give Julie a hug and Luke shaking his head—without noticing Kat beside him. Kat took this moment to be bold, intertwining her fingers with Reggie's, and the four teenage ghosts blinked out of the studio.

"Dude why'd you stop me? Julie needs a hug!" Alex argued with Luke, as the boy chuckled.

"Bro, a ghost hug isn't the feel-good moment that you think it is, alright?" Luke responded.

"He's right," Kat spoke. "Julie needs some alone time,"

"You know what? I think you popped us out because you can't handle when other people cry," Alex assumed.

"That's definitely why he looked us out," Kat agreed. Reggie chuckled, finally noticing their intertwined hands. He awkwardly pulled his hand away, and pretended to scratch the back of his head. Kat frowned at the loss of contact, clearing her throat and walking closer to Luke. "You big sap," she teased, whacking him in the head. Luke groaned.

"I should know," Alex said, referring to his own statement. "I cried in a room for twenty-five years and I didn't get a single hug from any of you,"

"Hey! I hugged you, once. We were both crying, but still," Kat interjected, feeling slightly hurt that he didn't remember her hug.

"Right.. but you guys didn't!" Alex pouted, to his band mates. Reggie uncrossed his arms.

"All right bring it in," he said, but Alex held up an angry hand.

"Don't touch me!" he yelled.

"This is why no one hugs you," Reggie stated. Kat had a ghost of a smile on her lips, but she wiped it away, crossing her arms over her chest as Reggie made eye contact with her, and averting her gaze.

She couldn't help but feel hurt at his little stunt a few minutes before, letting her hand go to 'scratch his neck.' Kat knew that he was only letting go because he didn't feel the same.

"Okay, so I think the first thing we should do once we get the courage to go  in there, is ask Julie... why she lied about playing the piano," Luke proposed.

"Yeah, you know, maybe tell her how amazing she is," Alex shrugged.

"Yeah, course, bro," Luke encouraged.

"Okay," Alex replied.

"She's legit. I got ghost bumps," Reggie said, looking at his arms. Kat giggled, lightly.

"Me too," she replied. "Oh, look," Kat pointed to the girl approaching them, crying as she walked by. "Aw, she's crying,"

"Oh my gosh. She's crying too?" Alex asked.

"Yes!" Luke freaked. "And the only thing scarier than one girl crying is two girls crying," Kat sniffled beside him, just to scare him more. "No, no, no! Kat stop!" he whined.

"You're such a baby," Kat laughed.

"He's right," Alex agreed with Luke.

"Guys we definitely can't go in there," Luke said.

Kat sighed. "Maybe you guys can't. But I can,"

"Wait no—" Luke tried to stop Kat, but she had already appeared in the studio, waving to Julie slightly.

Julie's eyes were wide as she noticed the ghost's presence, but she smiled at Kat.

"No! I'm not okay. You just got kicked out of music! I've been up all night thinking about what I was gonna say. Might've drank seven soda's but...I need to get this out," Julie's friend was saying, and Kat's eyes widened at the mention of the seven soda's the girl had consumed.
