Bright (part three)

"Guys, we really shouldn't be snooping around Julie's room," Kat groaned. "A girl needs her privacy," Kat said this, but even she couldn't help but look around at the things Julie had laying around. The boys did their own thing. Reggie was sprawled out on Julie's bed, Luke was staring at a wooden box on one of the shelves, and Alex was attempting to pick up a picture of Julie and what seemed to be her mother. Kat looked around in deep thought.

She was still uneasy about Julie's sudden nervousness on the night they'd arrived...especially since she was clearly hiding something from Kat.

  "Katerina Morgan," Julie had said, typing in Kat's name. "Wow, uh, yeah. Twenty-five years ago. The day before them," Kat leaned over to read it for herself, but the girl holding the device shut it off quickly, placing it back in her pocket. She was hiding something.

Whatever Julie was hiding...Kat could feel it in this room with her. Kat glanced over at the vanity in the room, eyebrows pinching together when she saw a crumpled up paper on the edge. Kat neared it, in one swift and easy motion, she was able to lift it from its position, earning amazed looks from the guys who had yet to lift anything but their instruments. The downside of being a ghost...

The paper in her hands was ripped a little, but still readable. Kat gaped at her name on the top of the newspaper article, eyes wide, and hair falling into her face, which she ignored, as she stood frozen.

AFTER DEATH OF KATERINA MORGAN, REMAINING PERSONS OF THE MORGAN FAMILY PRONOUNCED DEAD AFTER A TRAGIC CAR ACCIDENT

AFTER a trip to Donavan Creek Campground, and widow, Janet Morgan lost her daughter Katerina in a camping accident, the woman drove her sister (Betty Gregory) safely back to her home, along with her young niece (15) (Emma Gregory). Janet returned home to her son (James "Jimmy" Morgan Jr.) They went on Hollywood Blvd, only to be cut off by a large tow truck, hitting them. The two were announced dead at the scene.

It really is a tragedy how in the span of four years, a whole family has passed. May they Rest In Peace.

THIRTEEN-YEAR-OlD ELEANOR (ELLIE) DAVIS INVOLVED IN HIT AND RUN

Car is said to have the same license plate number as the car that hit the Morgan's.

Kat's breath was taken from her, as she read over the page again.

Reggie noticed Kat's state, and hesitantly walked over to her, not meaning to glance at the page in her hands.

"Hey," he said, quietly. Kat jumped. "Kat.." Reggie whispered, staring at the speechless, broken girl.

"Is that why I haven't thought of them?" she asked him, sobbing as she threw her arms around the boy before her. Reggie squeezed her tightly to his chest, the rest of the boys' following suit when they noticed what was wrong. "How could Julie keep this from me?" she whispered.

"We are so sorry, Kat," Luke said for all of them, and she just cried in their embrace. Kat glanced down at the crumpled paper in her hands, re-reading the second article underneath the one about her family.

Ellie. Ellie. How do I know that name? Kat thought. Her eyes bulged out of her head in realization.

"Ellie was killed by the same car that hit my family," Kat said, breathless.

"Who's Ellie?" Alex questioned, removing himself from the hug with the girl and the band mates.

"A little girl I met today at the campsite. She died when she was thirteen, same year as us," Kat sniffled, explaining, her throat raw from crying.
