The ghosts watched as Julie looked around the crowd nervously. Kat sighed.
"They're gonna have so many questions," she whispered to Luke, who nodded in agreement.
"Julie's smart, she'll know what to do," Luke assured. Kat smiled at his faith in Julie.
"Hey! Where'd the rest of the band go?" a boy asked, running onto the stage to meet Julie.
"Wait, were those holograms?" one of the Dirty Candy girls asked, and Kat's smile widened as she looked over at Julie, giving her a 'go with that' look.
"Yes! Yes, they were holograms," Julie chuckled. "I plugged it into the ceiling projector before the show. I'd explain it, but it involves algorithms and science stuff," she said. The crowd applauded.
"That's wild. They could see us when we're playing, but not when the music ended..." Luke explained, excitedly.
"We should double check!" Reggie whispered, hitting Luke on the chest and getting up onto the stairs to the stage. He started shaking his butt in the crowds faces, and moving around funnily. Kat gave him a disturbed expression, pleading for him to stop. "Yeah I don't...I don't think they can see us," he let them know.
"No crap," Kat replied.
"I wish I couldn't see you," Alex whispered.
"Okay people!" the principal clapped. "Show's over. Let's get back to class, please," she said.
Reggie walked over to the girls from Dirty candy, "Hey there. Hi. Reggie." he was introducing himself, while Kat grabbed him by his ear and dragged him back to where the ghosts stood. "Ow, Kat. Ow. Ow!" he whined.
"That's for being dumb," Kat huffed.
"You're cute when you're jealous," Reggie teased making Kat glare at him. He backed away, arms up in surrender.
"Okay, let's get out of here! We can surprise Julie when she's alone," Luke planned. The group shrugged and blinked into a cleared hallway.
As Kat waited, she found herself looking around at all of the trophy cases, and the names of kids who've accomplished some great things. She smiled, softly. She was sad, to say the least. If she lived, she could have accomplished something as well. It wasn't fair. Her life was taken from her when she was too young.
Julie walked into the hall, and they blinked over to her.
"Julie!" the ghosts yelled, as the girl screams in response.
"You! Stop doing that!" she hissed. "I'm serious,"
"Whoa, this one's all on you! We were already here," Reggie informed her. "Well, actually, we were over there, and then we came over here," he corrected. Kat giggled.
"Are we not gonna talk about what just happened?" Luke asked.
"Yeah, the whole school saw you. It's kind of freaking me out," Julie replied.
"Okay, good, 'cause it's kind of freaking me out too," Alex agreed. "You know, you could see us, and people can see us whenever we play music. And my clothes are made of air, but for some reason, I'm still getting a wedgie," Alex ranted, as Luke rubbed his back in hopes to calm him, and both Kat and Julie gave Alex disturbed looks.
Reggie also gave Alex a confused look, while the boy finally calmed. "So many questions," Alex said.
"The important thing is that we rocked that place. They were loving you!" Luke told Julie.
"Are you kidding? They loved us!" she corrected. "And Kat, you—you were incredible,"
"You were," the boys agreed, hugging the ghost beside them. Kat smiled.
