It's been a little more than two weeks since I last saw Jungkook. I had so much on my mind with the new project that I didn't even have time to stop by his place for a few minutes or invite him to my place. There was always something coming up, either I was too tired, had to work overtime or he was the one who was busy. Last week Jungkook also went out of town with Taehyung because he apparently needed a piece for the car and they decided to stay for a few days to sightsee the city. So, I can say that I miss him like crazy.
And it's crazy because I can't remember ever missing a person the way I miss him. We talked on the phone and had video calls all the time, but that is not the same as having him next to me, being able to touch him or kiss him. I missed his laughter, his goofiness, and his reassuring presence. Simply him in general.
Anyway, today the missing has come to an end because Jungkook is back in town and I will go and visit him in his workshop. I haven't told him that we have already finished our project, so he still thinks that I'm working today and again have no time for him. It was hard to resist his pout over video call and tell him a little lie, but I wanted to make him a surprise by bringing him food which we can eat together.
After saying goodbye to Nora, I get into her car, which I borrowed for today because I don't feel like taking the subway to Jungkook and carrying food around with me at the same time. So I'm heading over to Aunt Miran's to have her prepare something delicious for us. I can't forget the taste of the ramen I ate with Nora and all the other dishes Jungkook had packed for our first date. I don't know how she does it, but this woman creates masterpieces with her bare hands.
I park the car carefully on the roadside opposite the small restaurant and as I approach the entrance my nose is already filling with the delicious smell of homemade food. I could literally eat here every day without getting fed up with it. I open the door to the restaurant, the bell above me ringing before I'm greeted by the cozy interior, which has already taken my breath away on my first visit. Nothing has changed. The tables are still in their place, the dark green painted walls contrast with the golden decorations and there are not many guests like the first time.
"Elaine, dear. How nice to see you again!" coming out of the kitchen and with a big smile reflecting on her lips, aunt Miran takes me in her arms and a warm feeling fills my inside. It reminds me of the old times when my grandma was still alive.
"Thank you, Aunt Miran, it is also nice to see you again and to be able to eat your delicious food." I smile with all my teeth on display.
"It makes me happy to see you guys eating. What can I prepare for you?"
Thinking hard about what I can choose from these countless delicious dishes and because I don't know if Jungkook will be satisfied with just one dish, as he is really a glutton, always putting the blame on his muscular body, I look at the menu that is attached to the wall near the counter.
"I think I'll have two portions of bibimbap and one portion each of bulgogi and kimchi fried rice," I say, still looking at the menu and wondering if that's enough for both of us.
"That's quite a lot for a petite girl like you." Aunt Miran laughs, her eyes wide as she seems to be experiencing the shock of her life.
"Oh, no, this is for two people."
"For Jungkook and you?" she asks and my eyes go wide at her right guessing. I look around me shyly, a blush is rising on my cheeks and my state exposes me. "Don't worry, I saw it the first time you came here by the way he was looking at you. And of course by the amount of food I had to prepare for him. He really likes you. He's a good kid, Elaine."
