Ch. 28 "No one needs me"

                                                     Zoey POV

It has been a few weeks, And I have been having a great time, Stopping all kinds of crime, underground cage fighting, 

I have been living under the grid just so my father and the Avengers don't find me, 

I don't need him, I don't need them, I don't need anybody! I can take care of myself, I thought 

Right now I'm currently standing on a tall building it was dark out, 

The wind was blowing my hair out from my face, I had one leg bent as I leaned into it, 

I was looking at the sights listening to the sounds, 

I look up at the sky, 

"I miss you mom..." I mumbled 

Then I heard a scream, 

I smirked, time to go to work, I thought 

                                                       Steve POV 

I paced back and forth, 

"It's been weeks! where could she be?" I said as Bucky watched 

"I think she's porously dodging us, not that I blame her," Tony said 

"Not helping Stark," Nat said 

Then Peter walked in, he looked panicked, 

"Kid what's wrong?" Tony asked 

"You guys are not going to believe this," He said 

                                           Peter POV 

                                       A few minutes earlier

I was swinging, web to web when I heard a blood curdling scream I followed it right when I was about to help the woman that was surrounded by four men, 

Zoey dropped down from a roof! 

Zoey! I found her!! 

she took all four of them out with ease, blood all over her hands from the fight, her back was turned when one of the men got up about to hit her upside the head with a bat, 

That quickly I shot a web at the man causing him to get stuck to the wall, 

She spun around fast, 

"I didn't need your help," She said looking at me with a bit of anger, 

"That's not what I saw," I said finally landing in front of her, 

"I had it handled," She said crossing her arms 

"Not from where I was standing," I said 

She just rolled her eyes, 

"What are you doing Zoey, why are you out here, everyone is worried about you," I said 

"No one worries about me," She said looking away, 

"Of course they do! come on Zoey come back home we need you, Steve needs you," I said 

"Nobody needs me..." She said trailing off, 

"Zoey please," I said walking towards her

She backed up,

"Peter, just forget you ever saw me, its better for everyone if you just forget about me," She said 

"But-" I said but just like that she was gone, 

I looked around running out of the alley, in the middle of the street there was no trace of her like she was a ghost, 

I ran to the tower

                                           Present time 

I explained everything, 

"So she's the one breaking bones and taking names from criminals," Tony said rubbing his chin 

"We need to find her now!" Steve said 

"And you really need to apologize," Natasha said 

                                         Zoey POV

I was sitting at a booth at a  coffee shop not far from the place I've been currently laying low at, 

I was waiting and waiting looking down at my cup of coffee, until I heard someone sit down across from me, 

I look up to see the twins, you see the past few weeks they are the only one's I've been in contact with, 

They told me they understand why I left and they were here for me, so ever since I've kept in contact with them, I meet them every week, 

"Were you followed?" I asked looking them, 

"Not as far as I can tell," Pietro said 

I nodded 

"Zoey, you look exhausted," Wanda said 

"I'm alright, how have things been?" I asked 

"Well Steve and Bucky are a wreck, Tony is grumpy, Natasha and Clint are moping, and Bruce is still Bruce," Pietro said earning a smack on the back of the head by Wanda 

"Zoey not to sound like the others but why not come home and talk about this?" Wanda said 

"Because Every time we talk it always ends in a argument," I said sighing 

                                            Steve POV

Bucky decided it would be best if we would go for some fresh air, 

"Steve not to upset you more but you need to lighten up when it comes to Zoey," Bucky said 

I nodded 

"You need to remember she woke up, all alone, her mother in a retirement home not the same as when she was frozen, and no one to help her," Bucky said 

"Sigh, I know I'm just not used to this," I said 

He placed his hand on my shoulder, 

"It's alright I'm sure she's not either," He said chuckling 

But then he stopped walking grabbing my arm, 

"Steve," he said 

I looked at him and seen him looking across the street I followed his direction to see Zoey in a coffee shop, talking to the twins, 

My eyes widen, 

"Zoey..." I said breathlessly,
