6 months Later
"Neal Knight, tsk tsk tsk, horrible shame your a bad apple in the Knight family. Record show your brother never once caused any issues his in middle school." Middle school principal, John Q. Wood tapped his pencil against the desk, the 13 year old human sitting in small chair wasn't phased by the giants mans words or his freakishly large height. "My perfect brother never got in trouble, cause he was smart enough not to get caught." Neal spat out, John growled gripping the pencil. "Ah, you admit he's smarter huh? Not surprising after seeing your recent math  test. Mr. Jones is very displeased by the lack of care your given about his class, and he's not happy you replaced the erasable marks with permanent ones! Those aren't easy to clean mr. Knight." Neal chuckled, he found it funny whenever Mr. Woods face got serious. His nose wrinkles, and his glasses keep sliding down each second. "Finding that amusing  are we?" The principle fixed his falling glasses again. "No, sorry sir." Neal hid his smirk while apologizing. "Good, now the matter of punishment. Your given another detention, third one if I'm counting, and I'll call your legal guardian informing him of the matter. I'm sure he'll be thrilled hearing about his brothers bad behavior again. Such a shame as the Knights are good people. Your giving them a bad name.Oh before I forget, Make sure he signs the detention form as well and we'll know if it's been forged again
." Mr. Wood pushed a small piece of paper towards Neal, he reluctantly grabbed the form stuffing it in his pants pocket. There's a high pitch bell sound ringing through Neal's ears, finally the last bell of the day rang granting Neal freedom.  "Last bell of the day, see ya Mr. Wood!" Neal  jogged down there pair human step connect to the large desk, he held his backpack close and made his way out of the room. Mr. Woods office is connected with the main office, there's no human office meaning they must dodge getting crushed whenever entering the area. Neal dodges getting crushed, there's no certain directions humans should follow. After escaping the office he's brought out into the gigantic hallway, there's the giant lockers lifted off the ground and human lockers below them. His locker is right outside the main office. "What's the punishment this time?" Jay Rose, his best friend, greeting Neal at his locker. "Third detention, think Mr. Wood is starting to like me." He said. "Neal, you gotta quit starting trouble. Next trip to the office means a one week suspension." She told him leaning against the lockers. "Hey those weren't my faults! First, those guys should never have been making rude jokes about you during English class, they had those punches coming second, I fell asleep in Science, thirdly, I wasn't the one who switched the markers out. I got blamed and decided to take it. No one would believe me anyways." Neal said, he tossed few books in the bag, he slammed the locker shut and began walking along side Jay. "Typical, play the 'I didn't do it' card. Surely Mr. Knight will appreciate that defense." She told him. "What? I'm telling the truth! Ryan and Nate, switched the markers out! They told Mr. Jones I did it as revenge after he gave me a F on the last test! He's so stubborn, he ignored my defense and set me to the office, and we all know the principle hates humans." Neal said. "Hope Mr. Knight understands." She hoped. "He will Jay. The big dope knows I'm a good kid, we've really became a family over the last few months. Surly he wouldn't-SHIT here he comes!" Neal panicked, marching closer is no other than Finn Knight. He's wearing glasses, and has a scruffy beard. Neal hid behind Jay, the hallway is nearly empty by now meeting Finn spotted the kids easily. "Oh hello Mr. Knight, pleasant fall day we're having?" She nervously laughed. Neal despise having the middle school being in the same building as all the other lower and higher classes, Finn's not their teacher anymore, but that never stops him from yelling at him in public. "Yes Jay, it's was nice day until getting a call by the middle school principal! Neal Knight get your butt right here young man!" Finn demanded. "Hey big bro! Didn't see you there! How's life today-HEY PUT ME BACK ON THE GROUND!" Neal screamed, Finn clutches Neal by his shirt collar. "Not a chance kiddo! Have a nice day Jay." Finn stuffed Neal into his shirt pocket, "Good luck Neal." She said leaving them. "Finn listen, I can explain!" Neal popped his back out. "You better have a damn good excuse! Third detention, very disappointed Neal.  I understood falling asleep during a class will happen, not that I approve of fighting, but no one appreciates people making fun of friends. However I will not tolerate pranking teachers. That's immature; you know better." Finn scolded. "It wasn't my fault! The two bullies Ryan and Nate pulled the prank! They knew Mr. Jones failed my last test and used that at their advantage! Mr. Jones thought I did it as revenge! Finn, I swear I didn't do it! I would never pull a stupid stunt." Neal defended himself, Finn dragged a hand over his face. "I believe you Neal, does Mr. Wood know?" Finn asked. "No." He replied. "Great, I'll call him later. Also Neal, despite not pulling the prank you've been acting different. Staying up later, going back to not eating much, and hardly socializing. Is that all about Noel moving away? I know how upset you were after he left." Finn said, Noel moved away about a month ago, and Neal took it hard. Finn's brother quit talking a lot, he kept acting out and became grouchy. It wasn't until Neal finally broke down in tears one late night, he told Finn about his recent attitude change. "No it's not about that! God!" Neal yelled. "Kids."..." Finn mumbled under his breathe.
—————————————————Last month ago, Finn found he and Neal the moved into a tiny apartment after Finn decided they should get their own place. It's a small with a living room, the kitchen right behind it, then on the right is a door leading to Finn's bedroom, Neal's room is outside the older brother giving the younger kid somewhat privacy. They arrived back home, Finn entered tossing his eyes over by the couch. "Homework than tv alright even if it is a Friday night. Got science, English, and history tonight?" Finn asked the child sitting on his shoulder. "Finished English and History homework during study hall, and no science  or math!" Neal said. "No weekend homework? Wow during my 8th grade year we always had weekend homework." Finn said dropping Neal off at the couch, and Finn sat himself down. "Excited about your birthday party Sunday?" Finn asked placing his feet on the foot stand. "Absolutely not, remember I said no birthday party, but you planned one anyways! What's the point of a dumb of having a lame party?" Neal asked, Finn above all people was originally shocked learning Neal never celebrates his birthday after Chris's, Neal's father, death three years ago. He told his older brother that his mom never did anything special, and his birthday was only a father and son thing. After losing his father, Neal no longer cares about his birthday; another day of the year to him. "Turing 13 is a huge milestone! That's usually calls for a celebration and not letting you watch tv during such a big day!" Finn tried being persuasive. "It's not a huge deal, and I rather not even attend the dumb event." Neal whined. "And disappoint everyone who's coming? Lighten up kid, all the guest are looking forward to seeing you. The whole thing will be a blast." Finn pokes Neal's side using his index finger. "Not the same when only family members are there!" Neal said. "I'm sure you invited friends right?" Finn asked him. "Very funny big bro. Jays out of town this weekend, Noel's half across the county, and those are the two friends I have." Neal huffed. "There's nobody else who would wanna attend? How about that girl in your science class, Rebecca? Or those two kids that are always around you Nate and Ryan?" Neal mentally wished Finn would quit talking, he can't handle the giants kind attitude a lot. He notices Finn yet has to understand Neal doesn't have other friend nor is good at making them. "I mentioned Rebecca from Science because she's super annoying and never shuts her mouth. The two guys are the school bullies, never will I invite to anything! I never wanted a dumb part because I have hardly any friends. Thanks for making feel lonely Finn. I'll be in my bedroom." Neal grumbled, he slid off the couch and vanished to his room. "Ugh, face the facts Finn, he's becoming a teenager." Finn sighed learning backwards, he's not ready to expect that truth. "I heard you!" Neal shouted. "Hey kiddo, why don't you come spend more time with me! I'll make you a bowl of ice cream after dinner." Finn offers. "No thanks." Neal replied from his bedroom. "I'll put hot fudge on the top." Finn tried again. "And those really delicious sprinkles Grandma bought us?" Neal's voice squeaked. "Sure, but I'll make it if you hang out with me." Finn said. "Fine, but I'm picking the movie. Not watching another comedy." Neal said opening the rooms door. "Deal, does Chinese food sound good?" Finn asked him. "Sure, make sure they remember the rice." Finn nodded, he called the restaurant in the kitchen. As he waits for them to answer, Finn glances in the living room. He sees Neal's not the tiny kid when they first met, now he's seeing a the kid growing up, and there's not a damn thing he can do to stop it.
Sorry if it's wasn't the strongest opening chapter. Anyways what do you think of Neal growing up? Do you think Finn's ready to handle the pressure of living with a teen?
