"You chose to leave. It's not my fault."
"I wanted to make sure you'd be safe, alive, happy. Everything I did was to make sure you were ok."
"Well in that case blame yourself for me being like this. You caused this. You left me. You did."
Tony was in his last class period of class decided to actually go to football practice for the first time in a week. He knew his coach would be upset but didn't really care. He wanted to avoid going home since his parents had decided to go on a trip for their anniversary. He went to the locker room and as he entered he ran into no then that Coach Branson.
"Look who finally decided to show up!" He said crossing his overly muscular arms across his chest. "Good to see you too Coach." Tony said going towards his locker. "Where the hell have you been boy! I had to put Derick in your position and that boy has no talent!" He yells following him.
Tony opens his locker and starts to change as he responds, "Well if you must know, I had a date I had to mentally prepare for and my dad gave me a new project." Let's be honest, Branson only cared about winning he didn't care if Tony showed up to practice but cared if it caused them to lose.
"Alright, well this is the last time next time you skip an entire week your off the team." Branson says as he turns to walk away. "Awe man! Then I should have skipped this week too! I'm such a dummy!" Tony says teasingly knowing he wouldn't be kicked off because he's the star player. He earns himself a glare from Branson but then the go their separate way until they meet again on the field.
Meanwhile Bucky was at home getting packed up for his leave while contemplating which way to inform Tony. He honestly had no idea how he was going to go through with it. His mom doesn't want to let him go anymore and his father thinks it's a great idea. George wants Bucky to be his best self and wants him to do all the things he was never able to.
So no matter what bucky ever chooses to do he is always supporting him and is always encouraging him. Least to say George is Bucky's number 1 fan, as well as Mikas. But enough of that, Bucky went to his father for advice on how tell Tony what his plan for next couple of years are.
"Well son, you don't really need to make is special or sugar coat it. Women up and grow a pair. It's not like he will make you stay in sure he'll support you, hell, that boy might buy a plane ticket and follow you to Japan." George joked as he tried to fix a broken sprinkler.
"Yeah, your right....i'll tell him later today when he's out of football practice." Bucky said sighing and running his fingers through his hair. "Hand me the paste." George says and Bucky does so. "Thank you now go spend time with your mom before you go. She'll be up in my hair everyday you're gone so let me take my last bit of alone time in peace." Bucky chuckles and said, "Okay dad." and goes to bug his mom for a while.
Later that evening Bucky is sitting in his room twirling a pencil around his fingers. "What is the y-intercept of the line that goes through the given point and has the given slope? " Bucky says to himself. He starts to write down his thoughts on the separate paper on the side of his paper when he hears a ding from his phone. He puts his pencil down and checks the message.
Tony:
Hey, football game on Thursday. You coming?
Bucky:
Ehh yeah.
Can you come outside?
I need to tell you something.
Tony:
Yeah sure.
Just give me a sec.
Bucky:
Okay
Bucky closed his notebook and his computer and grabbed a jacket as he went outside to meet with Tony. After a couple long seconds, Tony joins him on the curb outside of Tonys house. "So what did you need to talk about?" Tony says looking at Bucky with concern. Bucky shifted uncomfortably and said, "Y'know how a couple months ago we had club and activity sign ups?" Bucky said not wanting to make eye contact for some odd reason. Tony tilted his head. "Yeah. What does that have to do with anything?" " W-well..." Bucky says, " I-I kind of did a thing....." Bucky glances at Tony and sees nothing but confusion written on his face. "I know we just started hanging out but we won't be able to continue this for much longer..." At that moment Tonys whole world came crashing down. Yes he had seen something like this coming but not as soon as it did. He didn't notice the tears that were coming down his face. "why?" Bucky didn't look up he just said, " this isn't because of you. I just- I signed up for the foreign exchange program when you and Steve were still together and I know I won't be able to handle a long distance relationship like thing. I mean think about it. I'm going to be in Japan and we are going to be in completely different time zones." Tony just sat there thinking of a way they could make it work out. " Give me a day." With that Tony got up an ran into his house. Bucky stayed in the same position for a few more minutes before going back to his house and continuing to finish his homework. He didn't really think he was going to say what he said either. He just got nerves and started to ramble, but what he found intriguing was Tonys words, "Give me a day." what did he mean by that. What was he going to do?
