Act 21: Household Shenanigans and Another Song

3rd Person P.O.V.

We never were apart

Because even in our suffering, our bond was very strong.

You thought it would be okay

As Max walked through the house during an instrumental part, MiniSere and Piper ran around him and then darted off into another room. Ariabelle came soon after, since it was a game of chase.

When I said that I didn't want to go back to Earth

You simply laughed and said that I needed my home

I'm not sure if you realized

But before then I lived alone

My siblings only came after you didn't come home

Max stopped in front of a display case that held a lot of framed pictures inside at the end of a hallway and put his hand to the protective glass. He looked at all the pictures of Claire and sighed. As he was doing these things, Piper and MiniSere ran from room to room to hide and avoid Ariabelle. Area kicked them out of her room and Serenity ended up joining the fray.

Max turned to go back to the living room, but stopped when he passed by Claire's room. He saw movement, but apparently it was just Piper and MiniSere. He sighed and continued back downstairs.

Serenity ran by Max into the kitchen, hitting him slightly and causing him to lose his balance. He caught himself, though.

He sat down on the living room couch and then moved to a position of laying down on the couch cushions. As he sang the next lines, she appeared again and jumped over the couch, landing on top of Max before quickly rolling off and under the couch to hide herself.

Ariabelle leaps over the couch successfully and pulls Serenity out from under the couch. Max ignores this and simply looks up at the ceiling, picturing Claire from a memory.

But even now, you don't seem to mind me at all...

Max recalled the time back on Neol, during the sunset.

"Claire, since the moment I first saw you, I felt something inside me. Like, there was some force that drew me to you... as if, from the very beginning, we were linked. When I finally got to know you, I knew for sure. A piece of me lived inside you, and a part of you was in me as well. Fate has a strange way of showing how we're linked, you know? Especially after the whole... you die then I die thing..."

"Yeah... that was awkward."

"But you still missed me when I was gone, right?"

She laughed.

"But of course! I can't live without you! I can't live without any of my friends!"

Back in the present, Max sighed.
