"Chapter Twelve"

Elaine's POV

It's exactly one week before the grand day. Everyone is getting anxious.

Well, she's getting nervous on her own how much more the others. Not to mention the fact that her gown was not approved by her mom.

Her mom wants her to wear something extravagant. All she wants was a simple look and simple outcome but fabulous.

She's on her way to the school garden when a guy called out her name. She turned around and saw Jimin.

"Jimin, hi how are you?" Elaine greeted him with a smile.

"I'm fine. Tired but fine. How bout you? Where are you going?" Jimin asked.

"To the school garden. Got to get some fresh air by the fountain. Wanna join?" Elaine offered.

*Jimin smiles*

"Sure, I got vacant time for now. Let's go." he offered his hand for her to hold.

*Elaine blushed but hope Jimin won't notice*

"The spot right there is fantastic. Do you happen to have your date?" Jimin asked unexpectedly.

"None yet, no one dared to ask me. I think they don't want to." she responded.

*Jimin got confused by her answer. He swallowed hard and speak*

"Maybe not. As I heard Rm, Suga, and V got their dates but doesn't want to reveal who are the lucky ladies." Jimin started

"So ahm, it's a pleasure for me if you'll accept me as your date.?" said he pouting his lips.

Elaine looked shocked by the sudden invitation. She got stuck for about few minutes.

When she recovered herself, she tried to let the words sync in again one by one. She looked at Jimin puzzled.

"So?? Is it a yes or a no?" said he searching for her eyes.

"Are you sure? Well you look sure enough so I guess it's a yes." Elaine said blushing.

*Jimin looked relieved at the answer. Somehow he likes her.*

"Thank you, I won't let you regret the decision you've made." said he assuring her that it'll be fun.

Both of them exchange glances and Jimin started to unpack some snacks from his bag.

*Opens a can of soda for Elaine and offered some sandwich and chips*

"I was scared you would say no awhile ago. There's plenty of girls here at school but I rather choose someone who knows my friends too." Jimin said.

"That's my reason too. It's better with friends rather than others." Elaine replied to him.

"I was supposed to ask Jane but Jin told me that she got a date already." he said.

*feels irritated, she felt like a second option*

Well she tries to ignore that revelation. She'll just enjoy the feeling.

As far as she can see he's sweet. She wonders why he doesn't have a girlfriend.

"You want some more sandwich or chips?" Jimin offered.

"No, I am fine thank you. I can't help but notice that you're like a boy scout. I never thought taking in some fresh air would become a picnic." Elaine said

"Better ready than not." he replied automatically. Elaine nodded her agreement to what Jimin said.

They were under the tree just beside the fountain. They haven't noticed the time flying smoothly away.

After eating and drinking, Elaine accidentally catch a glimpse on her wristwatch she's almost late for her class.

"Oh my God! I'm almost late. I better go for now. I'll see you around. Thank you so much for your time." Elaine stood up.

She walked away leaving Jimin behind. She glanced back at him and wave her hands, then gave him a flying kiss.

Jimin catched the kiss and return one flying kiss too, but Elaine couldn't catch it because she's already gone by sight.

Jimin:
(Why do I feel happy? It's kinda weird especially this is the first time that I got to experience this.)

Elaine rushed to her room. She's just right on time. The professor is about to arrive.

Elaine:
(I never thought time passed by that fast. I hadn't kept track of the time.)

She thinks about Jimin for the whole period. She can't put her full attention to the class.

Elaine:
(What's happening to me? Come on Elaine be attentive. You're not like this.)

After class, Elaine went to the cafeteria. She sat on the middle table.

Few minutes after, someone spoke from behind.

"Elaine can we join you?" said Jimin smiling at her.

"Sure, no problem I'm alone anyway." Elaine said smiling back at Jimin.

"You guys want to be alone? I think you guys need space. Sweet looks to each other.. You know what I mean." Jin interrupted them.

"No please Jin sit down. We're okay. Bro keep it a secret but Elaine here is my date for the ball." Jimin said

"Oh so does that mean you need to stare sweetly at each other? I guess there is something more coming up with you guys." Jin stated looking at them.

They laughed and talked about their day at school until they decided to go home.

Elaine drove home safe and sound not to mention that she is very happy.

Elaine:
(Never been happy like this. My heart beats fast when his around.)

Is this some kind of admiration, crush, or LOVE???

Elaine decided to take a rest and let everything go with its flow.
