"Chapter Thirteen"

Jhope's POV

It's weekend, and yet Jhope needs to go to school. He is one of the organizers for the ball.

While he is walking down the hall? He noticed a girl standing by the music room door. She's humming something with her eyes closed.

He went near her to listen if any music is coming from the room. But he heard none.

Jhope decided to ask the girl. He patted her shoulder and said.

"Miss are you okay? You're humming here alone."

*Meg opened her eyes and saw Jhope's face right in front of her.*

"Oh my! Sorry I thought no one would come this way." said she.

"Meg Griffils right? I'm Jhope Bennet one of the organizers for the ball. I'm here to look at the progress of the venue." said he trying not to smile widely.

*Meg blushed, she almost couldn't speak.*

"Yeah you're right. I'm one of the designers. And ah I know you. What I mean is who would not know someone like you?" she answered shyly.

"Oh ok. No need to elaborate Meg. Let's go, I need to see your creations together with your team." Jhope said.

*Jhope gestured her to go first and lead the way.*

Meg walked. She feels weird knowing someone was behind her.

Meg:
(I think it's okay. He is such a handsome guy. Hope he is not strict.)

Everybody was expecting Jhope to be there soon, but hadn't expected to arrive with someone.

Meg's team recognize her at once. They walked towards her and started asking questions related to their design.

They proceeded to their work, when another pair of people came in. It was Jk and Katarina.

Meg:
(What are they doing here?)

Jhope approached the two discussing something serious. They exchanged smiles and glances.

Meg never thought that Jhope was close to the two.The three were talking amiably when Kat looked at her direction. She smiled and waved her hand.

Meg smiled back at her. Kat walk to her direction leaving the two guys to themselves.

"Hey Meg, what are you doing here? Who's with you?" Kat asked

"I'm alone, and I'm one of the designers. How bout you guys?" said she curiously.

"Oh Jk and I are the School Council President and Vice President. We are incharge on making sure that everything is in place." said Kat

"Wow, you're like a power house couple. If only Jk doesn't have a girlfriend then we would all think that you are couple." Meg replied at Kat.

*Kat laughs*

"So to change our topic do you have a date already?" Kat asked at Meg.

"Nope. No one at the moment. Its ok I have exactly one week to have one. How bout you Kat?" Meg said looking lonely.

*Kat nods and signals her to keep quiet*

"Do you want to have a date?" Kat asked her.

"Yes of course. Who wouldn't want to have one." Meg replied. Kat winked at her and told her that she would give her a date.

*Kat holds her hand and pull her towards the boys.*

"Jk my dear, do you remember Meg? She does not have a date. Would you do the honor of finding someone suitable for her?" Kat said looking at Jhope.

"Meg I know why Kat brought you here. So would you be my date? Since Kat knows I'm still available." Jhope said giving an accusatory glance at Kat.

*Meg nods slowly. Looking so shy to all people around them.*

"Come on don't be shy my friend. So it's set Jhope and Meg together for the ball." Kat announced a bit loud.

*Everyone looks at their direction.*

The girls giggled and the boys exchanged knowing looks at each other.

Jk broke down the atmosphere by saying:

"Oh come on guys we got too much attention over here. Let's go to the cafeteria and eat."

The four of them went by pairs. Jk and Kat together then Meg and Jhope.

They went to the cafeteria, chose a four seaters table. The girls seat down first and the boys went to the counter to buy foods. Meg and Kat are busy chatting at each other when the boys came back.

Jk and Jhope served the two girls. They look up and smiled at them.

Jhope:
(I love that smile. Simple but sweet. She's attractive beyond words.)

"Thank you guys." said the girls in unison.

They chatted, laughed, ate, and went back to the venue.

They were all busy checking things over. By the end of the day, all of them were too tired to hang out more.

They said their goodbyes, and drove home individually.

Jhope looked at the night sky, remembering Meg humming on the front door of the music room.
