"Chapter Nine"

Cathy's POV

Only one week and three days left to prepare herself for the ball.

Well, no one asked her for a date yet. She never assumes that someone wants to be her date.

Such a lonely thought running all over her head. She has a crush, but it's too impossible for that guy to notice her. He already has a date. He got his girlfriend.

When she was young, she always dream of a prince charming, their hands intertwined and walking slowly to the center of a ball.

"Aww what a smile on your face my friend. Can you give me a penny of your thoughts?" Cecil said twirling the pen on her fingers.

"Nothing, just some school stuff. You know, projects and all." she replied

"I don't think that's it. I know you hate doing projects, so it's impossible that you think of those stuff smiling wide." she answered

They looked at each other and walk along the parking lot of the school. Cathy and Cecil entered the school premises looking happy.

As they entered the hallway, Jk and Katarina were on the locker area, whispering to each other. They were smiling and laughing on their topic.

Cecil went to their direction and waved her hand. Kat saw her and answer with a smile.

"Hello guys how are you doing?" Cecil asked as she approached.

"We're fine. We are just talking about the coming ball. Kat over here doesn't have a date yet." Jk said winking at Kat.

"Oh really, Cathy and I doesn't have a date yet too. We're even." Cathy declared and they all laugh. As they were laughing, another cluster of people appeared. It was Rm, Jimin, and Jane.

"Hey what's going on here?" Jimin asked

"Nothing much. Just talking about the girls who doesn't have dates yet for the ball. The three of us here happened to have none. How bout you Jane?" Kat said still giggling.

"Oh is that it? To answer your question Kat, I'm in at your group because I have none yet." Jane declares and the girls starts smiling.

"Rm and I doesn't have dates too. Only Jk has. Am I right?" Jimin said

"Jimin what do you think if we just pick one from these girls in front of us." Rm said.

"I'll consider doing that. Okay? Hahaha" Jimin said with a smile on his lips.

The girls looked at each other confused. Kat on the other hand ride on to the boys.

"I might buy the idea. It's not bad after all. If Rm is going to ask me, I'll say yes automatically." Kat said looking flirtatiously at Rm just to tease him.

"Then I think someone is going to have a partner from you girls. Haha" Jimin winked at Katarina.

"Okay guys let's cut this out. We need to go now to our respective classrooms. If you guys don't want to be late." Jk said.

"Yeah we better go before something happens here." Kat replied.

"Rm, you and I are in the same class this morning right? Won't you mind walking with me?" Kat said smiling at him.

"Sure, how can I say no to such a lovely girl as you. Can I ask you something?" Rm said looking at Kat.

Kat nodded at once. Looking at him like she's asking what does he want to ask.

"What you said awhile ago about the date thing, are you serious about it?" Rm asked.

"Aha about that, yeah it's true. Do I look like joking awhile ago?" Kat replied

Rm looked at her a bit shocked by the revelation in front of him.
"So, ahhh is it okay if you'll be my date at the ball?" Rm asked a little shy.

Katarina acted like she's been thinking what to answer back. Then she finally said yes.

"Rm can you keep it as a secret first please. I want to surprise them at the night of the ball. Can you?" Kat said

RM nodded and they both smiled at each other sweetly. Lunch time came. Cathy went straight to the cafeteria alone.

After getting her food tray of vegetable salads and some mashed potatoes, she decided to sit at the right corner of the cafeteria.

While on her way to the empty table, someone shouted her name. She searched the place. She saw a hand waving at the middle part of the place.

As she came closer, she saw a long table almost full of people. Only three chairs are empty.

The group consists of Katarina, Rm on her side then Jk, Cecil, Jimin, Jane, Jhope, Jin, Elaine, Meg, Suga, Eloisa, and V. Cecil is the one waving at her.

When she came, she sat to the chair next to Cecil and whispered.

"What are you doing here with them? I've been looking for you." Cathy whispered

"They invited me in. This is Kat's idea actually. I don't want to eat alone so I accepted the invitation." she whispered back.

They eat, talk, giggle, and laugh as a unit. All of them have their own experiences to share about life. They had a great lunch and a great day ahead of them.
