(Y/N)'s pov

I woke up and glanced at the clock, 6:59 am. I rolled back over and went back to sleep since I had one more minute left to feel the warmth of my bed.

I blinked to clear my eyesight and I stared at my clock. At first, I was in total disbelief but I blinked again to make sure I wasn't being fooled.

7:45 am...
I lay there for a moment contemplating if I should just stay home or not.

'I better not. Mom is gonna be in my ass, plus I won't get to see the love of my life..'

I groaned as I jumped out of bed and semi-rushed through my morning routine. I made a B-Line for the door not giving my hunger pains a second thought.

"Honey? No breakfast?" asked my mother.

"Nope! I'm gonna be late!" I said as I rushed out the door.

During my 7-mile walking jog, a silver Porche pulled up next to me. It was Heather.
"Heyy (Y/N)! Want a ride to school?" she asked with her bright smile.
'No, but, I don't feel like being late again and risking detention.'
"Uh sure.", I said reluctantly.

I've always been quite fond of Heather, she was a nice person after all. She had bright blonde hair and glowing blue eyes, what most envision as 'basic' but she made it look superior.
The Student Body President, top of the class since middle school, and she's won Miss Miyagi with her looks and wits for the past 7 years...
Even the teachers looked up to her. She was a perfect role model, I never knew how she did it all so well.

'She's definitely hiding something' I smirked to myself.

"Hey Siri, call Doctor Shlong' Chirped Heather.
The speakers in the car began to ring.
'Shlong?'
"Hey babe" spoke a familiar voice.
I froze.
"Torū, what are you doing?"
"Running some drills with my team," he said monotonously.
"Perfect so you're not busy!"
"I literally just said-"
"Meet me at the front in about five!"
"Heath-"
BEEP

"Gosh I don't know what I would do without him (Y/N)" She said with a lovestruck tone.

'Girl, just hush your smile even pieques my soul'
I huffed and checked the time on my phone.

"What's wrong (Y/N)?" Heather asked.
"Nothing at all," I told her, keeping my eyes focused on the road.
"You sure, you've had that look on your face since I picked you up"
"What look?" I asked concerned. "This is just my face."

She burst out laughing
"You poor thing if my resting face looked like that I'd look pretty miserable too' she smiled.
'Bitch did you just call me ugly?'
I contemplated on tucking and rolling out of her Porche.

We finally got to school and Heather parked her silver convertible in the parking spot that said: 'Student Body President Only'.

Wow. Even her own parking spot, I never really noticed that. But wow.

I checked my phone, 7:50 am. Ten minutes until classes start.
'I can probably finish today's homework before class starts... I was too lazy to finish it last ni-'

My thoughts were interrupted by a loud voice.

"TORŪ!!" yelled Heather out of nowhere.

She ran to him after she got his attention, I walked in the same direction since there was no other route to take to class.

It's not like I didn't want to talk to him, I just have little to no social skills, think about him every second of every day, and after he hit puberty all the girls flock to his side.

'If only'  If only there was a way to get closer to him.
"Hey pretty setter, can you walk me to class please,"
I silently scoffed as I walked past the two sneaking a glance at Oikawa.

His eyes locked onto mines leaving me frozen in front of the two.

"Sorry babe, but me and the boys wanted to get some practice in before class today." I glanced behind me to realize he was looking back at the gym and not me.
I mentally face-palmed.

"We play Karasuno in a month and the practice match we had proved to us that we can't underestimate them anymore. See, Tobio-Chan and the little ginger have this special move that totally caught us off guard..."

He was going on and on about the practice match they had. It was.. adorable. The way he got super excited about them even though they had lost. His passion for volleyball never failed to entertain me.

But Heather seems quite bothered by it. She sighed and rolled her eyes then interrupted him.

"..then Iwa-Chan-"

"Look, baby, we talked about this", said Heather with annoyance in her voice, "You said that you would care about me, your girlfriend more than volleyball. It's just a game I thought we-"

" It's not just a game, it's a passion," said Oikawa with a hit of irritation. "I did say that I would care about you more than volleyball, but I didn't promise."

'Damn, couldn't be me getting talked to like that"

Heather looked like she was on the verge of tears. Which made me very uncomfortable because I don't know how to handle a crying person. I began to sneak away from the viscous duo.

"Oikawa I-... Fine" she said with a shaky voice.

She stormed off into the school, almost stepping on my feet.

'I hope she ruins all her makeup'
I took a deep breath and tried to compose myself, I don't like it when I get irritated, I get mean.

"Hey (Y/N), can you check on her for me please?" asked Oikawa. My eyes grew wide in shock at his voice saying my name.

We looked at each other for a moment before he broke the silence.
"So, can you check on her?" he asked again.

'Fuck no'
"Sure" I smiled.
"Thanks, I'll make it up to you" he smiled back.
We sat there once again just looking at each other. The smell of his cologne was making me dizzy.
"Okay, well I'll see you around" he waved as he walked back to the gym.

I snapped back to reality and realized that I stood there staring at him like a weirdo.
'The social anxiety is not welcoming'

I went to the bathroom to clear my head for a moment, but then I heard very soft sobbing. I went to turn around until I remembered Oikawa's words.

'Ugh, since I'm here I might as well...' I rolled my eyes in resentment.

I walked up to the bathroom stall and knocked on it softly.

"Heather is that you?" I asked awkwardly.

" *sniffle* ...yes" she sobbed.

She came out with the full package, runny mascara, puffy eyes, and red nostrils.

'Don't laugh, don't laugh, don't laugh'
"You want water?" I asked her trying to stifle my emotions.

"No...but I could use a hug" she said.

Yeesh, how much did she cry? Her voice sounds like cats in a dryer.

I awkwardly put my arms around her as she sobbed.

As soon as she was done staining my friggin uniform she washed her face and thanked me.

"You won't tell anyone about my mini break down right?" she asked desperately.
"No of course not." I said, I wanted to ask her something but I didn't want to come off in a rude way, but I couldn't help it. "You two are...gonna be ok right?" I mumbled.

She turned to the mirror and stared at her reflection. "To be honest (Y/N), I don't know."

I sat there confused, what did she mean by 'I don't know'?

to be continued...
