Chapter 13- Madeleine's Story

So guys we've come a long way. 13 chapters. Thank you so much for being a part of this journey with me.

So I'll be posting new chapters every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

I'm sorry that there is very little part about Noah but he'll be appearing more in the future chapters.

Becca's POV

The person looks back and well, it was not the person I expected to see.

"Aiden?"

"Cupcake?"

I go and sit down beside him.

"What are you doing here Hotdog?"

"What are you doing here Cupcake?"

"I just came out for a walk."

"I come here whenever I want to clear my head."

I nod my head and look towards the lake.

It's beautiful to look at from here. You can see the whole lake and the hills behind it.

"It's really beautiful here Aiden."

"Yes, it is."

I look at him and ask.

"What did you need to clear your head about?"

He hesitated for a moment so I thought he might not tell and I sat in silence. But after a while he spoke.

"I had a sister named Madeleine. She was one year younger than me."

"What do you mean by had?"

"Two years before, I found out that she was dating my best friend behind my back. Two years ago, on this day she had a date with him. She went even when I told her not to talk with him. He was a douche bag, he used girls. So I warned her but she did not listen. She went on that date. And then she texted me to pick her up from the restaurant because he left due to some family emergency. I refused to pick her up so she hired a cab. But while driving the cab got into an accident and she...she...died in it. My parents got a divorce because of constant fighting after her death."

By the time he completed telling all his tears were rolling down his face.

I reached forward and wiped away his tears.

"I was the reason she died, Cupcake..."

"Stop Aiden, it was not your fault. You did warn her not to go."

"But I could have gone to pick her up."

"Aiden.."

"If I had gone to pick her up...."

"Aiden..."

"Maybe she would be alive....."

"Aiden...."

"It is all my fault..."

I didn't know what to do. He wouldn't stop so I do the first thing that comes to my mind.

I kiss him.

He stiffens for a second but then he kisses me back I put my hand around his neck while he holds my waist.

We break apart from the kiss after 10 minutes. Kidding. I think it was for two minutes. But it felt so long and good.

Just like the first time.

"Listen, Aiden what happened was not your fault. You told her not to go but she went. It was fair for you to be angry with her. You can't control what happens, Aiden. It was her choice, she chose to date him, and she chose to hire a cab. She could have called her friends but no, she hired a cab. It's not your fault Hotdog."

We both look into each other's eyes. His blue ones glisten with unshed tears.

He pulls my head towards him and leans his forehead against mine.

"Thank you, Cupcake."

After a while he whispers
"Listen about yesterday...."

"It's fine Aiden--"

"Cupcake, listen, I'm sorry, I didn't want to kiss Tiana. It was you I wanted to kiss, watching you go with Noah... It just , I don't know why, it made me feel angry...I don't know why...but then Tiana came I needed a distraction...and I kissed her...but all I wanted was to kiss you."

"It's ok Aiden but don't worry nothing will ever happen between Noah and me."

He looks at me in a confused expression." What do you mean?"

"When I was fifteen, Noah and I went to the same school, even Raven did. I was in love with him, sorry, let me correct myself, I was attracted to him. So one day at a party I told him I liked him, but he rejected me. Then everyone started teasing me and I was bullied. A lot.

And one day he poured a whole bucket of paint on me. Another time he pushed me into the pool. I didn't know swimming. I would have died if some teacher hadn't saved me.So then I left school and went to some other one. Raven accompanied me too."

"I'm going to kill that bastard."

"You don't have to Aiden he's in my past and I will like him to be there."

He just nods his head and looks at the lake. Then he turns towards me and holds my hand. He looked kind of nervous.

"Listen, I know it's only been a week since we have met but....would you....like....to...be...my ......date for homecoming I would have asked you for the freshman party also but we sophomores are not allowed so...."

"Wow, nervous Aiden is a sight for sour eyes," I tell and laugh. He also smiles and looks at me expectantly.

"Ok, I'll go with you as your date."

He nods and grins.

After a while, he looks at me and says " But that doesn't mean I'll stop pranking you," which makes me laugh.

"So what does that necklace mean, you wear it all the time." He says indicating towards my necklace.

It is a silver necklace that has a beautiful pendant.

The pendant is a sapphire-colored snowflake in the middle of a Ruby colored fire ring.

"Oh, it's my mom's. She gave it to me on my tenth birthday and I haven't removed it since."

He nods and looks at the lake.

We sit there chatting till the sun goes down and then he walks me home.

I unlocked the door and went inside.

I see something that I shouldn't have.

Oh god, what do I do now?
