Becca's POV

After visiting the Colosseum Aiden and I went home.

He parked the car in the garage and we both got out.

It was almost dinner time. We both walked in and removed our coats.

We walked into the living room to see Charles and Aura snuggle up on the couch and watching a movie.

"Mom," Aiden said grabbing their attention.

"Aiden. Thank God you kids are home. I thought I wouldn't get to cook for you guys even today." Aura says smiling.

There's something about this woman that makes me feel happier.

"So what will you be cooking today Aura?" I asked her.

"Oh, I assure you that you will love what I have planned. How does Grilled Fish with Artichoke Caponata and Rissoto with Capers and Espresso sound?"

"I have never heard those names before but I'm eager to try," I say grinning. This makes all the other three people laugh.

"Oh that's not it sweetheart I have decided to make Raspberry granita with balsamic caramel for dessert."

"Sounds great!"

She then holds my hand in hers and leads me to the kitchen. Aiden follows behind and sits on the breakfast stool and watches us.

While I was trying to apply the marinade for the fish my hair kept falling in front of my eyes.

"Let me help you with that." Aura says and pulls my hair behind my head and ties it in a loose bun. She then stands in front of me and places her hand on my cheek in an affectionate touch.

"You are really beautiful Becca. Aiden is lucky to have a girl like you in his life." She says.

This makes a few teardrops roll down my cheek. She reminds me so much of my mother. I don't know where my mother is.

For all I know she could be locked up by some psycho maniac.

"Thank you that means a lot Aura."

She smiles and wipes away my tears. She pats my cheeks slightly and goes to pull away her hand but something on my neck catches her attention.

I look down and see that she's staring at my necklace which is visible. My mother's necklace.

Her face pales and she goes still.

"This necklace.... It belongs to....no.....you can't be......no...this belonged to c......" She says stuttering looking at my necklace as if it was a  ghost.

"Aura are you ok?" I ask worriedly.

"Mom." Aiden comes and stands next to her. He holds her shoulder and she looks at my necklace.

She takes the necklace and flips it over and then she looked at my face.

There were tears rolling down her face and she looked like she was going to faint any minute now.

"Where did you get the necklace?" She asked after collecting herself.

"My mom gave it to me on my tenth birthday. It belonged to her." I say.

"Your Charlotte's daughter?" She asks in a  confused tone.

What?

Who the hell is Charlotte?

My mom's name is Caroline.

"No my mom's name is Caroline. Caroline Emberlie." I say.

"No that can't be. That necklace belonged to Charlotte."
