It was day 2 of training for the tributes of the 65th Hunger Games. Fear lurked through Cassidy Abernathy's body, but she was good at hiding it. Her first friend and ally she had made was Finnick Odair, a boy the same age as her from District 4.

Haymitch taught Cassie that the games were all about allies. This was easier to stay alive.

"Cassidy," Finnick smiled at the sight of the girl walking into the training area. He learned from the first day that she was already skilled with a machete, and she would come to learn that he was equally as good with a trident and a knife.

"Hi, Finnick," the young girl perked up at the sight of the fit young boy. They were both attracted to each other, but at the time their young minds were more focused on being in the games the first time ever.

"I was going to practice camouflaging today, do you want me to teach you?" The girl innocently asks him. Back at home, Peeta taught her how to bake and design cakes, which made her artistic abilities perfect. She thought blending into the trees or the ground would be of use for her, since she planned on camping out the entire games until it was time for her to kill somebody.

"I would love to. Thank you," Finnick responded, following the girl to a separate room where paint brushes and all makeup equipment was.

Spending a couple of hours on painting a tree bark across her arm and explaining to Finnick what to do, a thought crossed his brain.

"I know we just became friends, Cassidy. But we should definitely stick together during the games."

"That's what I was hoping for," she smiled. "Who knows, maybe we can both make it out alive."

"Then we need something that only we could understand," he suggests.

As she finished painting the final detail on her pinky finger, she looked up. "What, like a secret code or something?"

"Kind of. Something that the capitol won't understand and we can use it if we need to tell each other something in the arena, since the cameras will watch our every move."

"I like that. So what do you suppose we can say to each other?" She asks, letting her thoughts process through her brain.

"I don't know. I was hoping you would have ideas."

As Cassidy thought for a moment, a random idea popped into her head. "Well when I was little, me and Haymitch would always play this old parlor game called Little Lotte. So he would always call out and say 'Little Lotte let your mind wander' which would be followed by a question. It would confuse the hell out of our mother, but Haymitch told me he learned it from one of his friends back in grade school. I suppose we could use that if we need to let each other know to follow each others lead. So let's try. Say what I said and i'll follow suit."
