National Treasure

The Breaking Point.

Skylar's pov

"Wow I'm kind of offended that you have so little faith in the assassins in this house" I say holding a hand over my heart in mock offense.

"Alright if I'm up can we go to the next clue now?" I asked Arno who shook his head and laughed at my antics and we left I think they forgot about my head injury so fuck yeah!

*at Wall street*

We decided to split up to cover more ground so I was walking around when I decided to take a small break on a rooftop when I felt someone following me I knew there was only a few people who it could be as the lower ranking assassins know not to try to follow or sneak up on me. I whipped around to find out who it was.

"Well Ms. Dorian we always seem to meet in the worst circumstances but that's not important I have the Declaration and your friends and family is what's important" Charles Lee growled holding the container that held the Declaration and his goons held guns to my father, brothers, and.....friends? I don't know what to call them right now.

"What do you want Lee?" I say glancing at Jacob and Evie before glaring at Lee.

"You know what I want" he growled I looked at them but mostly at Jacob and Evie who had tears in their eyes and that sight alone pissed me off. I need to stay calm cause I'm not losing my family! He wanted the next clue.

"Under the church inside one of the tombs" I sigh and act defeated. He smiles a wide smile quite full of himself isn't he?

"Good now come along we wouldn't want you alerting someone who could stop me" he says and I follow behind him with the group quietly I looked at the goons and I kept my eyes on Lee.

"Why Sky?" Arno asked me I stared at the back of Lee's head.

"Play your cards brother play your cards" I say they all get confused besides Dad he just smiles knowing that this was something he taught me.

"That's my girl" he whispers I smile and follow closer to Charles but far enough so they don't think I'll try anything he leads us downstairs to an area where three tombs are waiting he turns to me.

"Which one?" He asked but I heard an underlying demand under his breath I sigh and look around thinking of the clues and everything else mixing together.

"That one" I say pointing to the one on the farthest left side. One of the goons then goes over and broke it with a sledgehammer then they removed the stone casket which almost broke but luckily didn't.

"Ladies first" Charles says bowing for dramatic effect I roll my eyes but crawl inside the tomb with the others not far behind me.

*present*

"Wait what does play your cards mean mom?" Jake asked me tilting his head I smile.

"It means Lee wouldn't kill or hurt any of them as long as I was important and at the moment I was important" I explain they nod and let me continue the story.

*flashback*

Once I was fully inside I grabbed one of the torches and Charles Lee so generously lights it up when he gets in. He stops behind me and places a hand on my shoulder I fight the instinct of shrugging his hand off of my shoulder.

"Lead the way Ms. Dorian" he says pointing down the stairs with his other hand as the others crawl in behind me and I see this big wooden staircase leading all the way down I grabbed one of the goons torches and threw it down. I watch it fall down the pit long drop, if someone fell down that they'd die for sure, hopefully it's Lee...if he doesn't get his hand off my shoulder I'll be the one t throw him down into the pit.

"Careful this wood is really old and rotted one wrong step and you'll be that torch" I say as a warning. Well more towards my family but they don't need to know that nonetheless Charles Lee nods and heads down before me, well he moved his grip from my shoulder to my wrist, he dragged me behind him.

"So you had to drag us into this dumbass?!" Katie snaps I roll my eyes and look back at her.

"You wanted to steal it I just happened to help at the right time" I say looking forward as she just glares at me.

"Why did you help them?" One of the goons ask cause Charles to look at me with a knowing look. 

"Reasons that don't concern you" I say plainly and the goon that asked the question fell through the wood we all look at where he was standing.

"Well he's dead" Jacob and Evie say what I was thinking after a few minutes of silence. We eventually kept moving down the staircase but then all of the wood started breaking which made everyone rush to the elevator, Lee dropping then Declaration in the process, I quickly grab Mercedes hand before she fell while I was holding onto a platform that would fall soon I glance up at the container.

"You trust me?" I asked her she looks at me confused while I looked down at her real quick.

"Yeah why?" She asked I waited for a minute then let go and watched as she dropped on a wood structure that hasn't broken then I reached up and grabbed the container then I dropped and landed next to Mercedes, well she pulled me away from the edge as I had almost fell over the edge, I look at her and nod putting the container on my back.

"You ok?" I ask her she nods and the elevator comes down next to us and Lee looks at me.

"Come on guys" Sacara says quietly we nod and hop on and when we finally made it to the bottom we hopped off and Charles pointed a gun at all of us.

"Where is it? It isn't here!" He asked I start thinking while I look around as well. I force myself to stay calm looking for an answer.

'Quick think of something!' I was mentally screaming at myself then I looked at the lamp and something hits me.

"Paul Revere" I say the first thing to pop in my head that made sense everyone looks at me confused even my dad did but oh well that'll make it more realistic.

"The church that Paul Revere used light the lamp in it twice and the answer will appear" I say continuing with the lie hoping he would believe it.

"Thank you and see you later Ms. Dorian " he says using the elevator to get up leaving us down hear while I watch it smirking.

"Great now they get treasure and we die!" Katie says storming around. While I looked straight ahead of me still having them behind me.

"Why sweetie?" Dad asked me I turn towards them with a small smirk on my face and that causes Nate and Arno to smile as they know me.

"She gave them a false clue" the two of them say together I walk into room behind everyone I look around...Katie seemed annoyed about everything.

"What are these?" I hear Sacara ask I walk over to where she was and saw what she was looking at I felt the circles and saw while the others were carved one was hollow like something belonged with it the shape looked familiar.

"No way could it be that easy?" I asked myself and pull the box out from my bag and opened it and put the boat part of the pipe in the hole and it fit.

"Arno wanna turn it?" I asked him he shook his head and looked towards Jacob and Evie.

"You two wanna turn it?" I asked them they smiled and nodded.

*present*

"Wait when did you meet Dad?" Jake asked I smiled.

"Hang on I'm getting there" I say to them with a chuckle.

*flashback*

They walked up and turned turned the circle and the stone wall moves opens we all walk in and it closes behind us
