Someone was knocking on my door as I was making breakfast. I turned the stove on low and sped to the door, "Shawn?"
"I should've called." He handed me some flowers and I allowed him to come in. He followed behind me to the kitchen where I placed the flowers down in a vase filling it with water. I turned my attention back to the stove turning it off, "how did you find my address?"
"Your assistant, I called and told her there was an emergency and she gave it to me."
"Wow, she's about to be fired. Hungry?" He said yes and I took out a plate for him and myself. I hope he chokes on a pancake, fucking creep. I wanted to eat in silence but he talked my head off asking me questions about myself. Like on some stalker shit, I tried to keep my answers as short as possible. I wanted this man out of my house, he's lucky he has someone I truly care about. "Let me ask you something, what do you know about a hive?"
"Like a beehive?" He nodded, "sure, did you know that when a queen dies the colony can't function. It's fascinating that a colony orchestrated around one female can crumble so easily in her absence." What the fuck is wrong with him, why is he speaking in a metaphorical way?
I mean half the stuff that comes out of his mouth is straight bullshit. He went from believing he's a prophet to thinking he's a bee keeper, I wonder if anyone ever called his bluff. "No it doesn't." Oh I'm about to call him out. "Excuse me."
"I have two girls, I've been through many science projects. That's inaccurate, a hive can thrive in the absence of the Queen." I bit a piece of my bacon watching him eagerly as he takes in the information. "You see, when a queens leaves her colony works overtime to produce a new queen. The hive builds a safe barrier around her giving her everything she needs to succeed. The colony also becomes stronger, if the queen was killed prematurely they rebuild their defenses. If she dies naturally they move on and continue thriving off her legacy. When a woman is in place at the head of the table Shawn shit gets down, we us our heads to secure the future. Unlike men who only use what's between their legs and think only of themselves."
"You are intriguing Nicki."
"So I've heard." We sat in a comfortable silence, you could see the wheels turning in his head scrambling for something to say. I guess my words affected him more than I realize.
His phone started ringing and looked at it making a face. I watched him decline their call and opened his messages. Whoever it was he was not too happy about, "I have to go. You should reconsider having dinner with me."
"I'll think about it."
"Breakfast was amazing, I haven't had a meal that good in ages." I ushered him to the door, we said goodbye. I immediately called Solange, this visit was a little too unsuspecting for me.
Solange Knowles
I paced back and forward waiting for Kelly to get here. Knowing her she was purposely wasting time purposely. This back and forward with her is getting old, now isn't the time to be tripping. She was supposed to be watching over Nicki, I specifically asked her be there since Michelle is handling multiple things. Asking Rihanna would've put her in danger and Wayne was busy setting up protection for the kids and everyone else.
