"Mom where's momma?" After searching this house for the fourth time I was getting nervous. Momma hasn't been around lately "working" and it's been driving me crazy. Since she's been back my anxiety has gone through the roof, I'm not sure why but I can't take it sometimes.

Usually my episodes pass within a few minutes but not recently. I'm taking these pills like they're tic tacs and it's messing with my performance. I feel sluggish and unmotivated whenever I take one. It's gotten to a point where my school counselors keep me in their office like I'm some nut job that'll shoot up the school.

Not spending time with either of my parents aren't helping. Mom is out expanding her shop so she's always out and momma is always with aunt Michelle or aunt Kelly working. When I finally see them, my mind is out of it because of these pills! "Uhhmmm talking with Wayne about something important. Why what's wrong?" She got up from her spot on her bed to cup my face. Her hands were warm and soft, they felt like baby hands. "I wanna hang out with her."

"So does everyone else in this family." She mushed my head walking past me to her mirror. Jealousy is a bad look on her, can you blame us though. My momma ain't been around in years. "Speaking of family, when are you two getting married?"

"Married? Octavia we're not even together, where is this coming from?" She turned around to look at me. That was a shock to me. "What do you mean your not with momma? She's lives here doesn't she!"

"You in grown folks business. What your mother and I got going on is our business and our business alone. When you need to know anything I'll tell you." She turned back around to apply some products on her face. From what I could see she had on light makeup giving off the natural look. My mom doesn't need makeup so I don't know why she even wears it, she's beautiful without. Something I wish I was. "Don't tell me you're still hung over Jayceon. Mom seriously he's lame! Besides momma is ten times better than him. Not to mention she's practically rich and he's a broke boy." I mumbled that last part so she couldn't hear me.

Jayceon wasn't really broke but he doesn't have our money. From how Imani explains it, my great grandkids will be comfortable living off what our parents make. Ain't nobody in this world makes the type of money they do. "I'm not hung over him we're friends."

"So in other words you still like him."

"That's not what I said."

"Do you still like him?" She stopped moving for a bit and started buying at her lip. It was quick pause of movement before her mood changed, "Octavia what goes on between me and your mother is none of your concern and neither is Jay. Stop questioning me like I'm your child, I don't have to answer to you so watch it little girl."

"I'm not a little girl I'm about to be eighteen, I know things!"

"No your about to be seventeen and you don't know anything. Not about me or about what I do so ima say it again so you can hear me," she dropped her lipgloss into her bag and started grabbing her stuff off the dresser dropping what she needed into her bag as well, "I don't have to you so watch it. Now I have to a busy day today that doesn't include going back and forward with you. I'll see you later when I'm through, call me if you have an emergency please." She walked out of the room without even giving me a kiss on her forehead.
