Third Person View
Tonight was the time for the Survey Corps to celebrate before they leave to reclaim Wall Maria. The time for them to take back their territory and bite back to the titans who have tormented thousands of lives for many years since their existence.
"This may be a special night, but let's not let the public find out!"
Sara looks down at the plates of meat that were prepared for them. This is the first time that they were given tons of meat to eat. It practically looks like a feast for them, to finally have meat as their dinner for once.
"Tonight's the night before reclaiming Wall Maria. Cheers!"
Just after the announcement, all hell broke loose. The cadets began fighting over the meat on the table. Sara picked up a piece of meat from the plate and watched the fights in amusement.
"Who's the idiot who had the idea to serve meat tonight?" She asks.
"Idiot, it was you who proposed to have a meat fest." Levi deadpans.
"In my defense, I didn't expect for everyone to agree to that. It feels like I voiced out what everyone was thinking." She grinned. "Isn't that right, Section Commander?"
She turns to her side, only to see the Section Commander herself feasting on the meat that was served in front of them. Despite the night filled with enjoyment, Sara was well aware of what is to come tomorrow. They will not be able to avoid casualties. Many will die, even when people hope that all of them will come in one piece. Families will mourn again, having their hearts broken with a news that will completely shatter their positivity.
It was all too familiar to her that it was all she could think of every time that they plan to go outside the walls. She cannot ignore that uneasy feeling at the pit of her stomach that something incredibly bad will happen tomorrow. She knows that they have at least three titan shifters to fight against at most, adding the Beast Titan she heard about in the equation.
Their plans will not be enough to save everyone. They will have to utilize their skills to their full potential and risk their lives. Chances of her dying is incredibly high too. Erwin's command of her releasing her full strength as Humanity's Strongest is enough for her to know that they are dealing with someone who is far stronger than anyone we've ever faced.
"Oi, you're zoning out again."
A snap of fingers in front of her snapped her out of her thoughts. She looks up to find herself back in the tavern that they rented for the night. Levi sat across her with his gunmetal eyes piercing through her orbs.
"Sorry, I..." Sara looked around. "I don't feel like eating more. If you'll excuse me,"
She stands from the bench. "Is everything alright, Sara?" Hanji asks worriedly.
"Yeah, don't worry. I just need to get some fresh air."
"I'll save you a plate, Captain." Erica beams.
"Really, it's fine. I don't think I can eat more." Sara pulled a weak smile and patted Erica's head. Before anyone else in the table could question her odd behavior, she exited the tavern and cleared her head.
Sara was conflicted. The feeling of having most of them dying tomorrow was plaguing her head. It made her realize a lot of things since she joined the corps. She had too many things hidden, too many words to say to the people she cares for. It didn't feel right for her to go into the battlefield without blurting her truest thoughts.
If she were to die without being able to do all the things she wanted to, she will die filled with regret and defeat. She didn't want that. She wanted to live through all challenges they face and protect the people she care for the most.
