Chapter 29| The End

Third Person View

"Sara Wisteria reporting for duty." Sara stood in front of Erwin. "In conclusion, we're fucked."

"Your sarcasm transcends death, Sara." Erwin sighs.

The both of them turned to look at the army or large titans surrounding them. The Beast Titan, who is right across them with a sinister grin, threw a giant boulder earlier that blocked the inner gate, not letting the horses pass through for safety. On the other side of the wall, two armored titans are climbing the walls.

Sara turns to look at Erwin. His eyes were squinted together and his lips were pursed. It was a sign that he was thinking up of a strategy while considering the other aspects of the battle that they need to think about for the success of humanity.

"We still don't know where Bertholdt is hiding." Sara said. "We need to keep him in mind."

"Yes, what I fear the most is him slaughtering our horses unchecked."

"Exactly. We won't have any mode of transportation for escape." Sara sighs.

"Dirk Squad and Marlene Squad will protect the horses with Klaus squad. Levi Squad and Hanji Squad will take down the Armored Titan. Employ the Thunder Spears at your own discretion. Achieve your objectives whatever it takes." Erwin looked at Sara. "Captain Sara will deal with the Female Armored Titan."

Levi's eyes widened along with Erica and Hans's.

Was this Sara's plan all along?

"This moment! This battle! The future of humanity depends on it! Once again, dedicate your hearts!"

Erwin looks at Levi and Sara. "At this moment, I will need both people consisting Humanity's Strongest Duo. I will split your forces." He said. "Levi will take care of the Beast Titan. And Sara, I'm leaving the rest to you."

Sara craned her neck to the side and rolled her shoulders. "Alright. Where's my dance partner?" She turns behind her and switched her blades upside down in a swift move, looking for the Female Armored Titan that was climbing the walls along with the Armored Titan. "Let's call her FAT."

"This isn't the time, Sara." Levi deadpans.

"FAT is an acronym for Female Armored Titan, Clean Freak." Sara hummed. "Meet you back here after?"

She grins at him, letting him see her reassuring eyes once again before they engage in a battle that has a high possibility of killing the both of them. Before he has the chance to reply, Sara turns her back on them and made her way towards Squad Hanji and Squad Levi.

"Get a pair of Thunder Spears, Sara." Hanji says.

"No," Sara sighed. "You will need all of it to defeat Reiner. I'll deal with FAT on my own."

"But, how will you pierce through its skin?"

"I already told you, didn't I?" Sara held her shoulder reassuringly. "If my hunch of having another titan shifter on their side is true, leave it to me to take care of them. Focus on defeating Reiner."

"Do you need us to assist you, Captain?" Erica asks.

"No,"

"But--"

"Hanji, they're under your command." Sara smiles softly at them before calmly walking towards the spot where the FAT was climbing the walls.

Hans was about to chase after her, but Hanji held back the Meigh siblings from following their Captain. She shakes her head, implying that they should put their faith in her as much as Sara put her faith in them defeating Reiner. For their plan to succeed, they will need to forget about protecting each other and focus on killing their enemies. That is the main reason why Erwin decided to link the Special Operations and Special Defense into one squad.
