Chapter 31 | Victory In My Veins

Third Person View

Erwin leads the cavalry, riding his own stallion as he released a final battle cry. The soldiers behind him were screaming, eyes filled with fear and nervousness of what is to come.

Will they survive?

Will they live?

Will their lives mean something after charging so helplessly toward the enemy?

They didn't know for certain.

The only thing that they can do is for them to hope that their sacrifices will bring them victory. As they were busy stalling and distracting the Beast Titan, Levi was silently killing the titans gathered form the left. He was slowly inching closer to the Beast Titan without him or the Cart Titan noticing his intent. The plan that Erwin thought up of sacrificing their remaining soldiers were effective as he followed through the plan.

He grits his teeth, apologizing deep in his mind as he saw the frightened soldiers charging full force despite their fears. They were carrying on their final duties as soldiers of the Survey Corps, as the people who are fighting for the freedom of humanity from this kill and be killed world. The symbol on the back of their capes were proudly indicating the very organization that bravely fought back against the evil that was keeping them locked in nightmares for years.

"My soldiers, rage!" Erwin yells. "My soldiers, scream! My soldiers, charge!"

As Erwin yelled words of encouragement, he was silenced by a boulder grazing at his side. His innards and blood spilled out of his body and slowly drained him. It led him to unconsciousness, but he refused to close his eyes before all of them have fulfilled their duty to the fullest.

The Beast Titan looks at them with pity in his crimson eyes, preparing for another roll of boulders to mercilessly annihilate the people who live inside the walls. With a powerful swing, he threw crushed rocks toward the forwarding soldiers.

"Yeah! Game set!" The Beast Titan exclaims. "Did you like that? I changed my pitching style for a better angle."

Through the green smoke, more and more soldiers came charging at him with strangled battle cries. Angered, the Beast Titan crushed a boulder in his hands and threw them toward the remaining scouts.

"Aw, you poor things." The Beast Titan glanced at his side to see his titans already dead. "Huh? They're all dead?"

A grapple was struck on its hairy shoulder, revealing a furious Levi above the ground with his blades prepared. He charges straight for the Beast Titan, his figure rolling around to slice its arm to pieces.

The Beast Titan thought back to when Reiner and Bertholdt warned him about the presence of two dangerous soldiers who can possibly kill him and the Female Armored Titan. Captain Levi and Captain Sara were deemed lethal after Reiner and Bertholdt's close inspection on their skills.

Especially Levi, he will stop at nothing to kill the Beast Titan who tormented hundreds of lives for their own goal. He blinded the Beast Titan with a swift cut through its eyes, bringing himself down to cut down its tendons and shift his balance.

"My legs!"

Levi launches himself up in the air and ignored the blood that was spilled on his face due to his continuous attacks. "What happened to all the fun you were having?!" He scowled. "Come on. Let's try to enjoy this a little!"

He switched his gear and changed directions midair, slicing off the Beast Titan's remaining hand that became its last resort to protect its neck. Levi comes down and stood on its nape to slash at the spot continuously until the owner of the Titan power finally reveals itself.
