Bex didn't lie. She threw her makeup back in it's bag and the car was soon packed. They decided to change into more comfortable clothes but even then they were back in the car in no time and headed to Rehoboth Beach. They had rented a house on the beach for a week. They were planning on doing nothing but enjoying the sun, sand, and waves. Of course they were both hoping to enjoy each other as well and in more ways than they already did.

It wasn't too far of a drive. While longer than the awards ceremony they had snuck out of, it felt like it went by far quicker. They were singing along to the playlist Mike had made, letting go for the first time in what felt like a very long time for either one of them.

They found a public parking lot near a beach access and parked the car. Soon feet were bare as they touched the sand. Blankets filled their arms and grins never left their faces. Once their spot was set up for the night, far enough away from the waves and the potential distance high tide would bring about, Bex apologized before taking off towards the ocean.

Mike looked at her confused before going off after her. She stopped just ankle deep into the water, grinning towards Mike. "I had to get my feet in the water if we were going to be this close." She explained.

"I totally get it. We'll go play in the waves tomorrow after we get checked in." He told her as he wrapped his arms around her from behind.

They stayed like that, watching the horizon for a bit, making note when they saw boat lights passing by. When Bex got too chilly from the soft breeze coming off the water, they moved back to their camp. Mike laid on his back as Bex laid on his chest. "This is the most stars I've seen in a while." Mike said.

Bex nodded. "It's beautiful."

"So are you." He placed a kiss to her hair before looking back up at the sky.

"That was really cheesy." She teased him as she moved so she could look at him.

He smiled over at her, moving onto his side so they could be face to face. "Doesn't make it less true."

She giggled, shaking her head before kissing him. "I love you, Mike."

"I love you too, Bex."

The next morning, they woke up as the sun was rising. They stayed in each other's arms as they watched the sun rise above the horizon making the sky change as it moved until the pale blue morning sky took over as the main color. It was then that morning runners started to appear and they got a few looks so they decided to head back to the car and find somewhere to eat for breakfast and waste some time before they could check in.

"We haven't even officially checked in and this has already been amazing." Bex said as they looked over the menu of the diner they found.

"Thank you for agreeing to come with me." Mike smiled.

"This is still okay?" Bex asked.

He reached over and gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. "This is honestly more than just okay."

She brought his hand up and pressed a kiss to the back of his hand. They didn't let go until their food came.

The house was quaint and had a balcony off the master bedroom that overlooked the ocean. They didn't stay too long though. Enough to change into their swimsuits and put together a beach bag. Their plan was to stay out most of the day until they needed to get ready for their dinner reservation.
