***Before Professor Flitwick could bring me to the Slytherin house, we crossed paths with Snape, who insisted that he would bring me. Reluctantly, I followed him down the path that would lead me to the Slytherin Common Room.
The air became moist and cold as we approached the dungeon, the temperature levels lowering. Despite being cloaked in heavy robe, which had turned emerald green without me realising, I was still cold.
Eventually, we stopped at a big stretch of stone wall. As much as I was terrified of Snape, I didn't want to make the same mistake as I have done the previous nights, so I quickly asked how to get in before could he dash away, leaving me alone in front of yet another house dorm.
Snape rolled his eyes. "Do not worry, Ms Nibley. There is no question you must answer. Your brain may be put at ease. There is just the password, which changes every fortnight. If Slytherin becomes your permanent house, you will automatically know it."
I nod in agreement.
He looked around to check for passerby's, before bending slightly to reach my ear level. "The password is pureblood. Never bring students from other houses into the Slytherin common room and never, ever, reveal the password, ever. No outsider has ever been into the common room for seven centuries. We'd like to keep it that way." He said firmly making sure I understood every word as he said them slowly. I nodded with my eyes wide.
Without another word, he swivelled on his heels and walked away, his brooding figure shrinking into the entrance of the hallway.
I turned to the gray wall, a hushed whisper flowing out of my mouth, "Pureblood."
The wall moved, revealing a passage. I walked through the stone walls with carved snakes on it and oh, it was freezing, small clouds of vapor erupting from my mouth.
The walls were made of greenish stone made it look like it was a dungeon. The common room was filled with black leather sofas and dark cupboards. There laid a chessboard on one of the tables for the rather boring Slytherins. It was filled with a smell like leather, wood, and fire, seeming like a bonfire was in the middle of the gloomy room. I noticed the stove behind the sofas, realizing as I nodded to myself.
The room gave a shimmering green light, like treasures glimmering at the bottom of a pit filled with clear water. That was the most beautiful thing about this house, and that it was like an underground ocean, windows opening to see the lake surrounding the house.
No one was in the room, I guess they all were sleeping. It was pretty late so it didn't surprise me as I awkwardly stepped about, waiting for a tour guide as all my other houses had. I soon reminded myself Slytherins didn't follow rules that much, and grumbled.
"Look who arrived," a howl filled the room, sounding like a wolf mocking a laugh as shoes tapped against the floor.
I turned around already afraid of who it was as my heart hammered against my ribcage, Draco and his two sidekicks stood right in front of me. Of course, Crabbe and Goyle standing by his side like two henchmen.
I can't wait till I'm in Hufflepuff.
The fair-skin toned boy strolled up to me in a threatening manner, as I stood my ground my heavy breath trembled slightly.
"Y'know, that little outburst of yours isn't going to cut it," he got closer every word, his face an inch away from mine as our eyes locked in a bear fight.
"Oh, yeah? Want me to just kiss your ass while I'm at it, Malfoy?" I sneered, raising my eyebrows as I pouted my lower lip, looking up at him.
His breath hit my voice in the smell of peppermint, "That would be quite nice actually," he stopped to think in mock contemplation, as his goons pushed him around, chuckling in amusement. "But no. What you're gonna do," he resumed the same position as before, his breath fanning over me in the same scent once again, "is to never insult me like that again. Got it, you-" my fists clenched with every word, chest pulsing in the deep intakes and exhales of breaths.
