chapter 3: why am I in the hospital?

izumi's pov: (2 weeks later)

I've been in this dark place for a while, I don't even know how long. I hear beeping and talking but cant respond in anyway. It's boring in here, I can't do anything, like turn into a cat. I want to leave this place and see my family. I miss them, I here them talking sometimes so I don't miss anything. shota said that people had brought me cards when toshi had asked how there were so many cards there.

I could feel someone holding my hand in their hand, it's warm. "please wake up soon izumi, it's been two weeks already, we all miss you" I hear shota says, I feel the urge to open my eyes so I do. I hold his hand back as I open them. before my eyes can even get use to the bright lights, shota hugs me. once he lets go of me he asks "how are you feeling?", I look around the room before signing "im feeling okay, but why am I in the hospital? last thing I remember was being in the car on the way home before falling asleep", he sighs saying "you had a fever, you had about five or more seizures before you fever went, you ended up in a coma because of them" I nod and look at the things in the room, the cards were from zashi's and shota's classes, there was one from my kindergarten class and some from the staff from my kindergarten and UA staff. "who gave me this?" I sign and point to the stuffed toy bunny. "hitoshi got you it, he was really worried and got you that to make you better, he was always asking if you woke up" shota says smiling, I smile hugging the bunny, the door opens and then someone hugs me, "i missed you mimi!" toshi says as I hug him back. I burry my face into his shoulder. once toshi let go of me, zashi hugged me, then the doctor came in, "glad to see your awake izumi" the doctor said, zashi let go of me and I smiled at the doctor. he did a check up and said I can leave in two days as they wanted to monitor me to make sure I was good to leave the hospital.

time skip to a few years later, 10 year old izumi's pov:

it's my birthday today! I'm 10 years old! usually zashi, shota and toshi come to wake me up, but not today I guess. last night we put a bandage on my arm since we would be finding out my soulmates quirk today. I run down stairs happily and they shout "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!", I smile and my tail waves. "whats your soulmates quirk, mimi?" toshi asks me, shota and zashi ask too. I slowly take off my bandage to reveal what their quirk is. fire and ice, rock?, and explosions. "i have three?" I say confused, I started talking but only when I'm with these three, and only when I have too. "wow, isn't that rare?" toshi says shocked. we all nod. I wonder who they are... "if they hurt you, im killing them" shota growls, "you'll lose your hero licence, also I'm quirkless so they don't know about me, oh this will be a problem once we meet, how do you even know if you've met them?" I ask kind of panicking, "when you near them, your wrist will feel tingly and in some cases, people's quirks activate, you'll know when you've met them" zashi says petting me. I nod and we have breakfast.

nezu, nemi and some other heroes come over with presents for me. I opened them and we all had fun. "izu, what is your soulmate's quirk?" nemi asks me. shota, zashi, toshi and I sweat drop, "i have three soulmates... ice and fire, explosions and rock?" I sign, they all looked shocked. "arent you a lucky girl~" nemi says in a sing song tone, I turn red and cover my face. "hitoshi, have you met yours yet?" nezu asks, toshi turns red nodding "i met him a few days ago...", zashi runs over hugging him and squealing, "him? why didn't you tell us?" shota asks with a raised brow. toshi sweat drops and laughs nervously and says "ah ah, um remember that 'no loud blondes' rule, yeah...", shota just sighs and everyone laughs, that was a stupid rule anyways, I mean he's married to a loud blonde! "shota, why did you even make that rule? your married to a loud blonde!" I sign to him, everyone else agrees with what I said and he just says "i didn't want to have any more loud blondes in the family" we all shake our heads. shota just shrugs and drinks his coffee. I wasn't allowed any coffee for some reason...
