I walked into the campus that I could basically call my second home. It was a bit empty today. Maybe the students were still enjoying their last bit of freedom before classes start tomorrow.

I had already finished unpacking so I went home for the weekend. Mom and Dad had just dropped me off since Serena texted me to meet up.

Serena was my best friend from Kalos. We had the same class in Biology. We met in first year and were inseparable since. The universe kept us together by giving us the same class each year.

Another thing to add is that Serena is an absolute beauty. Every guy on campus would die to go on a date with the blue-eyed, honey blonde girl. I completely lost count of all the death threats I've got because I hang out with her.

If only they knew what my sexual preference is. But I'm not ready to announce that yet. I don't think I ever will.

"Gou!"

I snapped out of my thoughts and looked around for the voice. I knew too well that it was Serena. Finally, I spotted her running towards me with a smile on her face.

"Serena!" I cried and ran to her. We met each other with an embrace. 

"Oh, it's so good to see you!" She squealed when I slightly lifted her off the ground.

We finally pulled away. "It's good to see you too, Sere. Though we did Skype every day." I added with a teasing smile. "You missed me, huh?"

"Of course I did you, dork!" She slapped my head, making me flinch.

"Ah, have you been hanging out with Misty lately?" I rubbed my back.

"Perhaps." She shrugged with a small smirk.

"Ugh, figures."

"What?"

"Nothing! Anyway, why did you call me here?" I asked.

Serena shurgged, "I arrived yesterday and was kind of lonely, and so who else would be better company than my best friend, Gou?"

"I was going to spend the last of my freedom with my family."

"Oh hush! I know you miss me too!"

"I do, but for now, I don't want to see your face."

"Um, rude."

"So how about we catch up over some milkshakes?" I pointed to the cafe that we usually hung out in during our free time.

"Sure!"

"Sounds like a very Serena thing to do." I laughed while Serena pouted and sneered at me.

Apparently, she had somehow managed to lose her horse while out riding, which didn't sit well with her mom. Aside from being pretty, Serena is also the daughter of Grace Yvonne, who is a well-known jockey. Serena is expected to follow in her mom's footsteps, but anyone who is a close friend of Serena knows she wants to pursue a career in fashion, which she is secretly majoring in. Though I don't know how she managed to hide that from her mom.

"Shut it, Gou." She said with a threatening voice, but this was Serena, so it sounded like a little squeak.

"Serena, you're too cute. You know I can't take you seriously with that voice." I wiped away my tears.

"I'll punch you. I won't even hesitate." She huffed.

"Woman, violence is not the answer."

"It is when you deal with annoying pricks."

"Ouch, you wound me." I held my chest with a pout.

Serena giggled and dropped her angry act. "So anything else interesting happen during the holiday?" She asked while playing with her straw. She looked like she had something in her mind.

"Eh, not really. But my grandma did join the karaoke club thing. She's gone almost every night." I recounted. Grandma had been looking for something to do with all the free time she had seen she retired, and apparently, a karaoke club was her calling. She is a good singer so I wasn't really surprised.

"Oh, really?" Serena chuckled. "That's great." She said airily.

I rose a brow. She had been acting weird since we got here. She was easily lost in thought and looking all dreamy. "Sere?"

"Hmm?" She hummed whimsically.

"Um, are you okay?"

Her eyes snapped to me, and her smile widened. "Oh, you have no idea." She giggled.

Freaked out, all I could manage to say was, "Okay."
