So that whole reason for Serena's unusual mood was due to the fact that she got herself a boyfriend during the holidays.

I mean like good for her.

But she wouldn't tell me who it is. You'd think she'd tell her best friend but apparently she and her boyfriend wanted to keep their relationship a secret for safety reasons.

Whatever that means.

Maybe he's part of a gang or something.

Whatever the real reason was, I didn't press on because I respected Serena's privacy. She'll tell me whenever she feels right.

But then wouldn't it be easier to keep off the boys if she told them she had a boyfriend. Wouldn't her boyfriend be pissed?

"Ugh, why am I thinking of this?!" I slapped my head. Well, I am her friend so it's only natural I worry for her wellbeing. But she is an independent woman - as she claims.

Serena and I had parted ways earlier and now I was headed for my room.

For the past three years of my University life, I had lived by myself because my roommate...eh. I don't know what happened to him and I didn't know who he was. He just never turned up so I had the dorm to myself. And for the last year it seems like it's going to be myself again since there was no sign of him when I came to unpack during the week.

I reached my room and fumbled through my jacket pocket to find to dorm key. When I did, I put it into the keyhole and turned but -

"It's open?" I muttered to myself. Did I lock it? I could've sworn I did. I twisted the doorknob and pushed it open.

The room still looked the same as I had left it but on the bed below mine was a person, lying down with his headphones on while he tapped away on his phone.

I stepped into the room, baffled. Was I in the right room? I looked up and saw the bags I had left on my bed. Yup, this is my dorm. And now I have a roommate.

"Ah, roommate." I looked back at the boy. He seemed about my age but was a tad bit shorter than me. Then I realised.

"Ash Ketchum?" I asked, my eyes wide with surprise.

"Um...yeah?" He said with a sheepish grin. "I suppose you've heard of me though we've never met."

"Yes." I replied with nod. I mean, how could you not hear about the the University's star soccer player and captain. "Wait, you're my roommate?" I questioned.

Ash nodded, "Yep. Anyway what's your name?"

"Oh! Sorry, I'm Gou." I answered back. "Um, if you don't mind me asking, why did you come now?"

If possible his grin widened even further. "Well, I heard you were here all by your lonesome for a while so I decided come and give you some company for this last year."

I cocked a brow. The last year is the year I didn't need company. Is he trying to sabotage my studies or something?

"Gooooooooooooooooooooooo-"

"What!?"

Not even a day. Not even a whole fricking day and already Ash was annoying the hell out of me.

"Let's switch beds!" He whined for the tenth time this hour.

I rolled my eyes and ease my breathing. I had to calm myself. "No."

"Whhhy?!"

"Because I'm taller then you therefore placing me higher then you."

"Yeah, no shit but the beds are the same size. There's no difference."

"There is."

"Oh yeah?"

"Yeah."

"What then?!"

"You'll fall off and hurt yourself because you're too short." I retorted and let out a small chuckle.

"You may be tall but I'll probably kick your ass."

"I'd like to see you try."

"Oh yea-"

"You'd probably be to short to even kick me."

"Oh my god stooooooooop!"

I laughed to myself and shook my head. I wish I could see his face right now but I didn't want to give him unnecessary attention. He was growing annoying by the second.

"Gooooooooou!"

"Oh my goodness what?!"

"Let's switch beds!"

"NO!"

"This is going to be a long year." I mumbled to myself and went back to scrolling through my phone, trying to block out the annoying cries of my new roommate.
