It was getting late, and I was headed back to the dorm after my small meeting with Chloe. It wasn't much since she just insulted me most of the time as Chloe would do.
The sun was setting in the west, and the skies were an orange hue. Sunsets were one of favourite sceneries. I made it to the dormitories and headed in. I wasn't looking where I was going because I bumped into someone, and we both ended up on the floor.
"Hey, watch where you're going!" The person shouted.
"I'm sorry!" I looked at them. Obviously, the person was a boy - otherwise what the hell were they doing in a boys' dormitory - with outstanding snow white hair and green forest eyes. When we stood, he was only an inch shorter than me.
I couldn't seem to look away from his eyes. They reminded me of the lush, green forests I used to play in when my parents and I went on vacation.
"Um, have I met you before?" His eyes softened.
I snapped back to reality and tried to see if I remembered his face. "Um...I don't think so." I lied.
His frown deepened, "Are you sure? You seem very familiar." He narrowed his eyes at me.
"U-uh, I never forget a face." I implied quickly walking to the side, ready to run off.
His eyes suddenly widened, and he looked at me with shock. "Gou, I-"
I didn't let him finish since I raced off before he could lie to me again. I ran up the stairs, ignoring his calls, but the footsteps behind me sure boosted me to run faster. I couldn't let him know where I'm staying.
I finally reached my floor and prayed Ash was there since he always left the door unlocked. I ran to the room and turned the knob, got in, and shut the door quickly, panting against it. I listened.
"Gou?" I heard his voice echo through the halls. "Please..." He said. Then he said no more. He was gone.
"Eh, Gou?"
I flinched and turned around. Ash was sitting on his bed with his phone in hand, looking at me with questionably.
"Are you okay?" He asked, concerned. "Did someone chase you?"
I was still panting, so that probably gave it away. I just nodded, still unable to talk. I'm really out of shape.
"Were they trying to hurt you?" He asked.
I shook my head.
"Oh. Then why are you running?"
I put my bag down and sat on the chair to catch my breath. I signalled Ash to tell him to wait as I steadied my breathing.
Ash chuckled, "You really out of shape, Gou. You should run with me in the mornings."
I blushed at his words, but he wouldn't be able to tell because I was already red in the face from the small workout I had just done. But my heart did skip a (painful) beat in the midst of it frantic beating.
"Slow down your breathing. It'll help." He said, putting his phone down.
"Huh?" I asked.
"Like this." He took a deep, loud breath in and exhaled slowly but just as loud. "Now you."
I raised a brow but followed as told. My breathing wavered a bit as I did, and it was hard to slowly do it since my brain was begging for a quicker supply of oxygen.
Eventually, I did settle down, and I was able to tell Ash what happened.
"Damn Gou, eight tall set of stairs! So why'd you run from him in the first place?" Ash leaned back on his bed. His shirt was slightly lifted, exposing his well tanned torso. Though it couldn't be tanned as it may be his natural complexion but who am I to know. "He could be your friend."
