Well frick, now I'm screwed. I may have managed to pull it off this morning but this afternoon, I was alone and royally screwed.
"Dang it." I said quietly to myself. I was hiding behind some bushes that were directly facing the entrance of the boys dormitory and there in plain sight was Tokio, standing against the doorway and looking around, probably - no definitely - for me.
I slumped down behind the bushes and sighed. How am I going to get to my dorms? I don't want to talk to him or see his face or hear his voice. I don't even want to think of his stupid face.
"Gou?" A voice said, scaring the hell out me. I looked up quickly, thinking it was Tokio and getting ready to sprint away.
"What are you doing here? Uh, I did get your name right...right?" It was Gary, standing over me with a somewhat not-Gary smile. In other words he was smiling sheepishly.
"Uh, yeah." I confirmed looking at him confused. "Do you need something?" I questioned.
"Yeah. You see, Ashy boy remembered you and your little situation so he suggested to the coach to have me come and get water. But really it's all a part of his 'punishment' for me and a ploy for me to come and fetch you. Coach agreed because Ash is practically his son." Gary explained with a very annoyed look, and his tone really complimented his look.
"Oh, eh...you didn't have to." I responded shyly. This seemed like too much. Ash is really going out of his way to help me ignore Tokio.
Gary arched a brow at me than looked ahead. I followed his gaze and saw him looking at Tokio who was still there, unmoved. "Hmm, looking at it now, I actually did have to." He sighed. Clicking his tongue, he bent down and grabbed my arm, yanking me to my feet and dragging me off.
I didn't make a sound because I didn't want to get any unwanted attention. But once we were far enough, I yanked my hand back and frowned at Gary. "What the hell?" I growl.
Gary was unfazed by my outburst, only laughing and shaking his head.
"What's so funny?" I questioned aggressively.
Gary snorted before he replied. "Oh nothing really." He said dismissively.
"Hmm, there obviously is something." I said wearily.
"There is but I'm not telling." Gary shook his head and smirked slyly.
"Okay, keep your secrets." I rolled my eyes.
"Ha, okay Frodo."
"What the heck?" I chuckled at his little joke. Gary seemed satisfied with himself as he had a goofy grin plastered on his lips.
"You like that? Ash made me watch Lord of the Rings with him over the holidays." Gary said.
I nodded, "I didn't think you'd catch the reference but here we are." The two of us began to laugh.
I felt more at ease with Gary at that moment. I came to realize from our small walk to get water and back to the field that Gary is a huge dork under that overly obnoxious, arrogant guy I came to know from the three years of Uni. We were entering the field but were still engrossed in our discussion about Harry Potter.
