The council allowed me to go to the holding cell-- where Lothaire is currently in.
The guard opened the door and let me in. I went inside and roamed my eyes around. It was a dimly lit room with only one light hanging from the ceiling. I saw him sitting at the edge of the bed.

He looked straight at my eyes, but his gaze was blank.
"Why did you kill my sister?!" I can hear my voice breaking. I grabbed him by the collar.
"I didn't," he then said, almost a whisper.
After he said that, he laughed hysterically. He laughed like a maniac, it echoed inside the cell.
"I saved her from misery, you should be thanking me."

The investigation and trial regarding Lothaire's case run for more than a month.
It exposed the story behind Lothaire's origin—his abilities were a product of an underground laboratory experiment. He was used as a tool to bait humans with charms and abilities and lure them into joining the council. All of this information came from Lothaire's confession during the council's trial interrogation.
His cooperation led to the raid of the laboratory, capturing both human scientists and the talented charmers and titans involved in illegal projects. They have been in operation for over 15 years with their vision is to destroy the boundary between the human and the magic world, overthrow the entire council and the Ministry of Magic, and to rule the world. They were building an army of magic warriors, Lothaire being the first of their creation.
Unfortunately, Lothaire suffered great torture under the hands of the researchers and he felt used for being merely the laboratory's tracker. He felt demeaned. Instead of kidnapping people to the lab, he killed them himself.
The investigation also revealed that the laboratory's prime network inside the council was Headmaster Angelov Delvin of Boran. He supported the needs of the underground operations. In exchange, he was provided with state-of-the-art facilities for his academy. They also uncovered another dirty laundry: Principal Serena Willford of Charm Academy was a traitor to the council as well.
Now I understand why Serena sent me to Boran, the facilities are part of the candidate detectors.
"April?"
Lumingon ako. Inches from me is a woman wearing a corporal attire, smiling at me.
"Hello, I'm Rose, part of UBSL. Priam and I are workmates." She showed me her ID and extended her hand.
Tumango lang ako.
"The organization have a proposal for you. We were wondering if you would like to be part of us."
I raised my brow. "Tell me more about it."
Her smile widened, knowing I'm interested. "If you accept our proposition, you'll have training at Titan Academy and of course, do missions in exchange."
"And what benefit can I get from that?"
"Aside from monetary and other privileges, we can remove your charm if you want to."
