"oh my god grace stop !" i laughed into the phone after hearing one of maggie's awful, and i mean awful jokes. as she went to tell me another one i heard a faint knock on my bedroom door. i was about to scream and tell whoever it was to go away before the person spoke up. "y-y/n?" finn.

"uhm hold on maggie i'll call you back" i said. i hung up the phone and placed it on my nightstand before getting up and walking towards the door. when i opened it, i was met with an exhausted looking finn. his hair was a lot messier than usual, his eyes were red and puffy and he was hiccuping. "oh my god finn are you okay?" i asked before pulling him into my room and into a hug. he continued to sob into my shoulder while i played with his curls.

when he finally regained enough energy he spoke up. "n-no m-maya cheated on me" he cried. it took be a second to understand what he was saying since his words were being muffled by my shoulder. "wait what?" i asked for clarity. he repeated himself again, this time more clear and i gasped.

who the fuck would ever cheat on finn? he's perfect. "i caught her with a-another guy" he cried. having enough of his tears, i sadly sighed and pulled his face up towards mine. "finn look at me" he inhaled as our eyes met. "i know it hurts right now but i promise things get better. she doesn't deserve you" for the first time tonight i saw him smile. he sniffled and hugged me again.

"thanks y/n/n" finn replied. "for everything"

finn's mind was going crazy with thoughts. his girlfriend cheating on him with someone else should be driving him crazy like it was a few seconds ago but, it wasn't. he took comfort in the girl standing below him. her beautiful y/e/c eyes looking up and into his own, her slightly furrowed eyebrows, and her y/h/c hair made him feel at peace. he wondered why he never felt this before, it took him getting cheated on to realize that the perfect girl was right there the entire time.

there was a silence between the two as their faces inched closer to one another's, breaths being hitched and all until y/n broke the silence. "are we about to kiss right now?"

finn couldn't help but chuckle at her question and bite his lip, nodding. y/n took charge and slightly pushed him backwards. "finn no. your heartbroken and i'm not taking advantage of tha-" y/n started but was cut off by a pair of lips crashing onto hers.

it was almost like the world completely stopped, hearts beating fast, lips moving in sync. it was perfect. this moment was perfect.
